Year-round private Catskills glamping site with stunning sunset views, come stay on an incredible lakefront property nestled in the hills of Sullivan County. Our 16’ 4-season canvas bell tent features wood burning stove, running water, and comfortably sleeps two with a queen sized bed. Have the entire property to yourself as you nest in a large stove heated 16 foot all season bell tent. The tent has been carefully curated and styled by the designer/photography duo hosts, and boasts an eclectic, refined chic style. Inside the tent: You will find a queen size bed, nightstands, lanterns, two dining chairs, coat stand, clothes rack, fresh towels, cabinet for keeping glasses, plates, cutlery, French press, stove kettle, tea, coffee, water, basic cooking spices, wood burning stove with kindling and logs. Our wood burning stove keeps the tent extremely warm in colder temperatures. Stay charged with a Jackery power bank perfect for laptops, phones, and other small devices (see images to see what’s compatible). Outside the tent is a cooler which keeps food cold for up to 10 days! We provide ice at the beginning of the stay. This also doubles as a bench to sit and remove shoes before entering the tent. We highly recommend you bring slippers for inside the tent (no shoes allowed inside) and shoes that slip on and off easily for going in and out of the tent quickly. For cooking there is a 4 burner barbecue grill and stove top, console to prepare, sink for washing utensils and dishes. The outdoor string lights begin to shine after sunset and illuminate the cooking area, wash area, bath area, dining area. There is a lakeside fire pit and lakeside dining table. We love our outdoor bathroom! Enjoy a warm shower powered by our propane water heater. The view from the shower is special as it looks out over the lake. There is a separate outhouse with composting toilet. Just add sawdust and you are good to go, mother nature takes care of the rest. On the lake, feel free to use our canoe to enjoy the peaceful lake. This is especially beautiful at sunset. Swimming in this lake is not possible due to town regulations Since off-grid living can take some getting used to for some, we find it helpful to check our guests in and get them set up for the best experience possible. Let us know when you expect to arrive and we'll do our best to be there to show you in. If you need to contact us for any reason, you can reach us by phone. We are happy to address any questions or concerns you may have, and are committed to making sure you have an incredible time. Mountaindale is the closest hamlet to the site and we are very proud to be part of this special community. “Tucked in the majestic Sullivan County Catskills, the secluded hamlet of Mountaindale has become known in recent years for its cultivated resurgence. Its once-sleepy Main Street is now home to a vibrant constellation of hip independent businesses, from well-curated lifestyle shops to a sound meditation studio to a pizza shop slinging naturally fermented pies and biodynamic wines.” https://m.chronogram.com/hudsonvalley/how-to-spend-an-idyllic-weekend-in-mountaindale/Content?oid=13288762 The hamlet has three restaurants, which have outdoor dining options, including the Creek Bar, a beautiful setting by the creek; a grocery store; an apothecary; a vintage clothing store; a market/coffeeshop/cheese shop/bookstore and wine store (with great paninis, soups and salads, local produce, dairy and meat, and local products as well as antiques). Ask us about pre-ordered barbecue food kits delivered to the site. Laundry: There is a laundromat in the village which is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The town is very much a weekend town with most of the action coming Thursday night - Sunday. Be prepared for quiet time and closed stores Monday through Wednesday SURROUNDING AREA There is fantastic hiking (including Minnewaska, Mohonk and Catskills State Parks) of all levels, excellent rock climbing, ice caves (Sam’s Point in Ellenville), biking, fantastic bird watching, canoeing, and a winery (great wine tasting) in the Bashakill wetlands, as well as the new gambling casino, and water park in Monticello, and public golf courses. music concerts (Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center – the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival with a great museum and visit of the site, and amazing outdoors concerts ), farmers’ markets in almost all villages including in Rock Hill on Saturday morning (10 am to 1 pm), Delaware River rafting all within half-hour drives and horseback riding only 5 minutes away. Having a car is recommended for this trip although there are bike rentals in Mountain Dale, it couldn’t be easier. Rails to Trails provides a mile long bike path directly from Silver Lake to town. The bike path is not illuminated at night though. IMPORTANT; This is not a party location. The lake is small and there are a handful of neighbors dotted around who come to enjoy the peace and sanctity that this area offers. There is also an array of bird life and loud music carries across the water and does not fit in this kind of environment. The land: Bring your boots! Our path to the lake can get a bit muddy in areas after wet weather. Parking is about 400 ft from the tent, so please keep this in mind with regards to bags/luggage you will be carrying. Guests have access to everything on the land. This glamping site is situated between two neighboring residential properties that are both second homes, and occupancy is inconsistent. There’s no visual impact. Pets! Of course you can bring your furry friends. We just ask that when shoes come off before coming inside, that paws are wiped down too. Wipes/paper towels provided :)
