The main bus terminus for the island is a 10 minute walk away. Victoria is at the centre of the island so it is easy to explore everywhere from here. Fully licenced by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA). The space The property has many features of local traditional farmhouse such as stone arches, thick wooden beams, traditional patterned tiles and an old traditional spira (spring well) which can be viewed through a glass tile in the living room floor. The sunny courtyard is for the private use of those staying in this apartment. It isn't accessible to anyone else. Supermarkets, restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops are all nearby. Transport options include the local bus terminus, hop on/off open top bus tour stop, taxi rank etc. The Citadella fortress from the time of the Knights of Malta is a few minutes walk up the hill. From there you have views over the whole island along with many places to visit such as museums, the cathedral and exhibitions at certain times of year. The property can sleep up to 4 people. There is a large sofa-bed in a separate alcove outside the main bedroom. This is in addition to the large 3 seater sofa in the lounge area. All linen and towels provided are 100% Egyptian cotton. Both duck feather & hypoallergenic pillows are available. There is a wood pellet burner to warm guests in the winter months and air conditioning & fans to cool in summer. A large number of international TV channels are available via the 42" flatscreen TV. Guest access Guests will be able to access all parts of the property. There are no shared areas with other guests. Other things to note The property is slightly more humid inside than a modern building as it is built of porous limestone. This locally sourced stone "breaths" and if all windows are kept closed for a long period of time you will notice a feint earthy smell. This is standard for ancient locally built properties like this one. The windows in the property are smaller than a modern home as the building was designed in the medieval period to keep heat out in summer and warmth in in winter. The building is in a conservation area and is protected from alteration so it cannot be changed. It therefore is a bit darker inside than you may expect. However, the property is equipped with air conditioning, opening windows, a dehumidifier and a bright, sunny terrace which adequately overcomes these features. There is no parking within the alleys of the old town as they are very narrow. However there is on-street parking around 3 minutes walk away, or cars may be parked in the main car park next to the bus terminus (around 10 minutes walk away) The property will be cleaned and fully prepared prior to your arrival, For stays longer than 7 days, additional bed linen and towels will be provided.
