Blue Feather Lake House - Tobermory

Welcome to Blue Feather Lake House. On our first day here we found a blue jay feather under the trees and “Blue Feather” was born. We are located on Larry’s Lake in Dorcas Bay on the Lake Huron side of the peninsula. This means beautiful sunsets, a family friendly lake, peace and tranquility. We are a short drive from Johnson’s Harbour, Singing Sands beach and Bruce Peninsula National Park and 20 min to downtown Tobermory. We hope you enjoy our space and the area as much as we do! The space Enjoy being on the water with beautiful views of the lake from the cottage and from the dock and waterfront patio/ sitting area. It is a shallow entry to the water off the dock. 3 kayaks (2 adult and 1 youth) , Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP), canoe and a paddle boat are available to be used at your own risk. When kayaking, canoeing or paddle boating if you head to the middle of the lake, you will find a shared dock for jumping into deeper water. Guest access There is space for a maximum of 2 cars on the property. We have a long driveway surrounded by trees. The cottage is hidden from the road. Guests have access to the entire property expect for the bunkie (unless pre-arranged). In the winter months outdoor furniture and watercrafts are put away. Also snow on the back deck and stairs can accumulate quickly due to the proximity to Larry’s Lake and Lake Huron. Guests are asked to use the front door to access the BBQ and the front stairs to access the rest of the property. Other things to note Blue Feather is a licensed STA (License # STA-2024-261) Blue Feather Lake House is not wheelchair or walker accessible due to stairs up to the cottage and down to the fire area/ water. The water source is a well and also goes through a water filtration system and a UV light filter. The water is tested by the Health Department and is safe to drink. You can bring your own bottled water if you do not like the taste of well water. Blue Feather Lake House uses a septic system therefore nothing but toilet paper can be put in the toilet. Please park in the parking area not on the grassy area by the front door over the septic system. Roku SmartTV , AppleTV, and DVD player are available for connecting to your device or watching DVDs. There are no channels available. We are dog friendly but due to a severe allergy we are unable to accommodate cats. We chose this cottage as the perfect place for us to create family memories with our sons that we will cherish forever.
