Howden Cottage

Relax in our beautiful cottage with fantastic views, log burning stove, super king size bed and large walk in shower. Whether you want to be active or just relax, Howden Cottage is a great base to enjoy all the delights of East Lothian. If you want a trip to Edinburgh it's about a 45 minute drive or you can drive to the local station - about 8 minutes away and take the train which is 25 minutes. Parking at the station is free. The space Howden Cottage has a kitchen/living space with log burner and large picture window onto a private garden. The kitchen has a full size dishwasher, a BOSCH oven and a 2 ring electric hob along with a small dining table. There is an under counter fridge with freezer compartment. There is plenty of seating and a smart TV and a speaker for you to connect your own device to. The TV is not connected to an aerial so operates from Wi Fi but we have a Netflix log on for you and it's logged into I Player etc. Wi Fi is provided by a dedicated EE router. There is a separate bedroom with super king size bed, hanging and shelf space and an en suite shower room with large walk in shower. There will be shampoo and shower gel if you want to use it. The bed can be separated into two singles, just ask when booking The cottage has been newly renovated (2021) - all appliances are new and there is an efficient central heating system as well as the log burner. The cottage has an Energy Performance Certificate with a rating of D. The property has a short term let licence issued by East Lothian Council number EL00199F. Guest access There is a dedicated parking space right next to the cottage. Other things to note We will provide all logs, firelighters and kindling for the log burner - nothing more tedious than having to find those yourself! We will also provide easy light bags for the BBQ. In the kitchen we will provide tea, coffee and sugar - all individual sachets. I leave a small welcome pack of milk, eggs and shortbread biscuits but if there is anything in particular you would like, or you are celebrating a special occasion, please let me know. You will also find dishwasher tablets, cleaning cloths, tea towels and washing up liquid along with plenty of kitchen roll. In the shower room there will be towels, face cloths and toilet roll. There are extras of everything in the kitchen cupboard.
