Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This was truly a bay getaway before digital games and internet. There are two bookcases with hard bound books, card tables, and reading lamps. There is TV with WIFI and internet, a ductless HVAC system and a large 100'x 125' lot This cottage is very suitable for work away from home environment. A separate table and 2 office chairs are available for a work area that can be closed off from the rest of the house during the day. The 1 bedroom has a queen bed with wardrobe and clothes rack. The bath room has a shower (no tub), makeup vanity, and toilet. The wash basin is in an adjacent area that provides access to the bedroom and also the rest of the house. There are two single beds in a glassed in porch with full length bamboo shades and the book cases. A table with 2 desk chairs are here with great internet connections. There are steps to access the cottage on both entry doors. Individuals with limited mobility may have issues with ingress and egress. A large driveway can provide space for 3 cars, 2 trucks, or a 24ft boat. The streets are narrow and do not provide much room for street parking. A vehicle is required to see much. A county prier and waterfront is an easy walk away, along with a popular Pub/restaurant. Bacliff to Kemah Boardwalk is a 5min drive that has numerous restaurants and amusement rides including a wooden roller coaster. There are 3 restaurants within a mile with one within walking distance with early weekend old fashion breakfast. It is a 25min drive and easy access to the Galveston Cruse line parking and terminals, UTMB medical area and miles and miles of beaches. Galveston has numerous attractions and vacation venues of their own. The Space Center Houston is 25 min the other direction will all of the NASA exhibits and and equipment mockups. It is a little pricey but well worth the tour. Bacliff is an unincorporated area which means there are not any city services, such as sidewalks. Galveston county has 2 public parks that are close, and there is a public boat ramp, public pier, and restaurant within walking distance from the cottage. There is a local grocery and a drug store close and major big box stores 4 to 5 miles away. It is not an attractive community. It is one in transition from very poor to rich. Private vehicles are required for easy of getting around. There is a county bus that runs trough the neighborhood about once an hour that runs to Texas City. I have never taken a ride, so not sure where is stops. Uber has responded to my request in a reasonable amount of time when needed. The cottage has a fenced in driveway that can accommodate several vehicles. The yard is fenced, but not small dog escape proof. The only entrance to the cottage is through the driveway gate and any pet would have to leashed when you go in or out.
