Description
Bardou is a historic hamlet nestled in the mountains. It is located on the GR7 at the crossroads of several marked hiking trails that lead to the Gorges d'Heric, Caroux, St Martin du Froid, Espinouse, etc. with beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and water basins for swimming, lost in nature and far from any civilization. The hamlet was an old sheep farm and we have some beautiful peacocks, dwarf chickens, geese and cats. The space The Dolls house is a cottage built of stone, probably in the 18th century. The house has been restored while preserving the original as much as possible. The walls are 70 cm thick and therefore the house stays cool in summer and there is a wood-burning stove for winter, but the wood is extra. There is plenty of wood in the forest, but this wood is often very wet in winter. You can buy wood at €100 per cubic meter (you only pay for the wood consumed). Guest access We have 2 common terraces reserved for the inhabitants of Bardou (in addition to your private terrace in front of your house) There is a drinking fountain, the sanitary block with showers and classic toilets and dry toilets for environmentalists😇. Other things to note Tap water is spring water (uncontrolled), which is good for coffee, tea or cooking. There is also a communal fountain in the hamlet where the water comes out directly from the rock, which is potable. Bardou is an ecological village, we ask that you use only natural products (no bleach) and respect nature.
