⭐️ The fisherman's chalet 🎣☀️BIKES WELCOME
Le chalet du pêcheur
Description
We welcome you to a charming and warm space, perfect for unwinding and breathing 🌿 Located a few minutes from the Bécancour industrial park, on a quiet cul-de-sac street with access to the river, it offers the perfect balance between nature and the city. Come and enjoy a lovely moment of relaxation in the comfort of our mini-house🏡 On site, you will find a hot tub to relax 💦 as well as all the amenities for a pleasant stay and to create memories The space 🌿 What you need to know before you check in 🌲 In nature… and by the water! The cottage is located in the middle of nature, right on the waterfront 🌊 It's peaceful and beautiful, but nature also means mosquitoes, flies and lots of spiders 🕷️😅 We have the grounds treated every year, but as some guests have already complained (mosquitoes love our guests as much as we do😂), we prefer to warn you! 👉 Bring a good mosquito repellent, and everything will be fine — this is real chalet life in Quebec! 🇨🇦✨ ⚒️ 🏠 The exterior of the chalet is currently under renovation and is not yet finished, which is why there are no photos at this time 🔨🙂 The landscaping is also in progress, so if you are coming with children, please supervise them at all times for their safety 🌿👶💛 🏡 Private and quiet area The chalet is entirely yours and your group's — no shared space. It is located on a private plot of about 20,000 sq. ft., in a peaceful area. A neighboring chalet (which does not belong to us) is inhabited year-round, but each space remains well separated 🌳 💦 Hot tub open year-round! The hot tub is accessible in any season 💚 In winter, if it's very cold, it can lose a little heat — that's normal. 👉 Just do shorter sessions and close the lid well after use so that it regains its temperature. The hot tub has been moved to the side of the chalet to offer more privacy 🌙 ❄️ During snowstorms Before you arrive, the path between the parking lot and the chalet is cleared of snow. But if you arrive during a storm or book last minute, several centimeters may fall before your arrival — so you will have to clear the snow a little yourself 🧤 If a storm occurs during your stay, it is also up to you to shovel: we do our best, but we live far away... and cottage life comes with a bit of adventure 😄 🧱 Exterior improvements The exterior of the chalet is still being finished — the work will be completed in the spring 🌸 If you're traveling with children, keep an eye on them, as there are still some materials near the shed and hot tub. 📆 Terrace layout and outdoor space → Accessible from June 18 to October 15 ☀️❄️ 🔥 Campfire and wood Wood is not provided, so remember to bring some if you want to make an outdoor fire 🔥 💡 You can get it at the village convenience store, nearby. We sometimes leave some on site, but since some guests complained that it was wet (yes😅), we prefer to let you handle it to your liking! Guest access 📍 Things to do in and around Gentilly 🍽️ Nearby you will find several restaurants as well as a market (Intermarché) where you can buy everything you need for your stay 🥖🧀🍓 🍺 About 10 to 12 minutes away, discover the Quai des Brasseurs in Bécancour 🍻 A regional microbrewery renowned for its local beer, its terrace overlooking the river and its relaxed atmosphere 🌊✨ 🚶♀️ At the end of the street, a beautiful space on the waterfront awaits you 🌅 You'll find picnic tables to relax and eat outdoors. 👉 You can also put your kayak, paddle board or fishing rod there 🎣🛶 🛠️ Note: The washer-dryer visible in the photos is under repair and not available at this time. ⸻ 🌿 Small to-do list of activities around Gentilly: 🏞️ Gentilly River Regional Park – 5 min (3 km) → Great trails, mountain biking, hiking and nature watching 🌳🚴♀️ 🏡 The Old Gentilly Mill – 4 min (2 km) → Charming historic riverside site, local culture and exhibitions 🪶✨ Gentilly Christmas Market – 4 min (2 km) → Festive atmosphere, artisans, music and sweet smell of hot chocolate 🎅🕯️ 🏖️ Petite Floride Beach (Sainte-Angèle-de-Laval) – 15 min (13 km) → Nice free swimming area with sand, picnic area and great river view 🌊☀️ 🐴 Gentilly Equestrian Center – 10 min (8 km) → Horseback riding and country atmosphere 🐎🤠 🌿 Anse du Port Ecological Park (Bécancour) – 15 min (12 km) → Walk, picnic and river view 🌅 🧀 Fromagerie L'Ancêtre (Bécancour) – 12 min (10 km) → Organic cheese tasting and local shop 🧀🥖 🎨 Nicolet Folk Arts Center – 20 min (18 km) → Exhibitions, shows and artistic atmosphere 🎭 🛥️ Bécancour–Trois-Rivières crossing – 15 min (13 km) → Boat ride on the river and magnificent panorama ⛴️ Other things to note 🕒 Check-in and check-out Check-in is from 5 p.m. and check-out is before 10 a.m. ⏰ If you'd like to check in early or check out a little later, it's possible depending on availability, but there's a small fee of $15/hour. (E.g. check-out at 11 a.m. = + $15, check-in at 4 p.m. = + $15 😉) ⸻ 🌸 Things to know (because we like to be transparent) The space you're renting has already been the home of other families and guests before you 🏡 As people come from all over the world 🌍 and often cook here 🍳, it is possible that some smells are different from those you are used to. Despite our very strict rules on smoking 🚭 and animals🐾, it happens (unfortunately) that some guests do not always respect them to the letter. If you are particularly sensitive to odors, nicotine or animals, it is possible to perceive slight traces of them. In this case, a little fresh air 🌬️ often fixes everything! Each space is carefully cleaned and ventilated between each stay 🧽🌿 But after receiving a few messages from travelers claiming to smell odors that neither I nor my team could perceive (the mysteries of the human nose 😅👃), I just preferred to be honest with you 💛 If you are the type who is hypersensitive to odors or are looking for a 100% neutral place, this place may not be the right fit… and that's okay 💫 Thank you for your understanding, openness and common sense as a traveler 😄🌼 Registration Details Quebec - Registration number 306373, expires: 2031-10-26
