Thanks to its location and nearby parking, it’s suitable for both business travelers and tourists exploring the Sassi. The space The room is located in the beautiful Piazza Mulino complex, designed by the renowned architect Aymonino. The entrance opens onto a small bridge overlooking a shopping gallery, which is closed at night and during certain hours of the afternoon. The entrance area is therefore protected by gates, for which we provide the access codes. Although Piazza Mulino is a modern building, it is in the historic center of Matera, just 200 meters from the Sassi and all the main attractions. Surrounded by numerous bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc., it is in an optimal location for any type of traveler. Piazza Mulino is 300 meters from the train station (which leads to Bari) and from the shuttle stop for Bari Airport. There are several bus stops just 50 meters away. To visit the Sassi, you cannot use a car; you must walk, as the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) begins very close to Piazza Mulino. For those who prefer to use public transport to reach the Sassi or the Murgia Materana Park and the Rock Churches, the "Sassi Line" and "Belvedere Line" bus stops are 300 meters away (tickets can be purchased on the bus or at nearby newsstands for half the price charged on the bus). Guest access Dear guest, our rooms are located within the residential complex of Piazza Mulino. To access them, you must use one of the two entrances: from Piazza Mulino or from Via Passarelli n.11, where you will find aqua-green gates. Next to the intercoms, you will see a small black touchscreen; enter the code 8990#. Reach the reception door (at the top of the stairs if you enter from Piazza Mulino, or after the tunnel and bridge if you enter from Via Passarelli) and wait for our check-in staff to verify your documents. The access code to the reception and your room will be provided after the document check. To exit through the gate at the foot of the staircase on Piazza Mulino, you must first press the gray button on the intercom located to the right of the reception, where there is a sign that says "gate opening." Simply press the gray button on the upper intercom before exiting, and the gate will open. Other things to note The reception opens by appointment. Doors and gates are equipped with a numeric keypad.
