A perfect destination for avid travelers, couples, or families! Come and relax! We have plenty of room for your boat or watercraft. This area has great fishing right off of the dock or lawn area. The lake is steps from the lawn; a fantastic area to play in the shallow water as it gradually deepens leading to the raft. First floor has a fully equipped open concept kitchen/dining/living area, 1 full bathroom (with washer and dryer), and a full slider with a screen to the lakeside deck. Living room includes full cable TV and a DVD player. Stairs lead to 3 fully furnished bedrooms: 1 large room with 1 closet, queen size bed, (extra mattress in closet) and access to the balcony, back bedroom with queen size bed and window air-conditioner and lake side room with queen size bed and access to the balcony. Each room has enough closet space for needed belongings. Enjoy the rustic feel throughout with hardwood floors and a wood stove in the kitchen area. There is a window air conditioner in one bedroom; ceiling fans in all bedrooms and several smaller fans available. Laundry and Internet are on site and available for your use. Franklin Pierce is approximately 520 acres and is part of the Monadnock Region, also known as the Jackman Reservoir. The lake is split between both Antrim and Hillsborough, NH. The lake features a public boat launch, as well as a public beach and picnic area. The lake is listed as a fantastic warm water fishery with both rainbow and brown trout stocked. Small mouth bass, pickerel, horned pout, white perch, northern pike and bluegill are native to the lake. Hillsborough is famous for boasting the homestead of Franklin Pierce, 14th President of the United States. This historic home is open for public tours. Within Antrim and Hillsborough are many antique shops, restaurants, and small stores to visit. Thirty minutes from Antrim is the quaint, popular town of Keene. With it’s many specialty shops, restaurants, and entertainment, Keene is a popular day-trip destination. Also nearby is Mt. Monadnock, one of the most popular hiking mountains in the New Hampshire area. Activities on or within minutes of the lake include: water skiing, tubing, golfing, fly fishing, fresh water fishing. Due to the angle, the area in-between the two houses, including the fire pit and shared dock are in the camera's view. We have a gas grill, but an open fire would depend on the weather.
