The Whispering Walleye Fish Camp is centrally located in Huron. Great locally owned restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, bars, restaurants, and public beaches are all within a 5-10 minute walk. There's a large concrete area with outdoor seating and tables to gather around the fire pit. There is a fish cleaning station with running water. The property backs onto a train track and trains run with regularity through the day and night. The train whistles are very loud and we want potential guests to be aware of that prior to booking. We do supply your plugs to mitigate the sound. If you love trains, this is the place for you! A multi-million dollar public boat launch is located across the street. Plenty of space to park your truck and trailer. Plenty of outdoor seating at concrete patio area, which includes a fire pit and a charcoal grill. The Riverfront cottage located at the Whispering Walleye Fish Camp, sits on one acre of land in Huron, Ohio. This hidden gem overlooks the Huron River. The Whispering Walleye Fish Camp is centrally located in Huron. Great locally owned restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, bars, restaurants, and public beaches are all within a 5-10 minute walk. Take a short drive and enjoy other nationally known places close to us such as Cedar Point, Sports Force (Indoor and Outdoor Sports Center), and Kalahari Indoor Waterpark. They are all within a 10 minute drive from our location. The bathrooms available for use by occupants of this cabin are shared bathrooms, which are located at the back of the canoe/kayak rental building. Towels and toiletries are available. A train track is nearby, in case of any noise sensitivity. Trains pass by regularly including throughout the night. There is definitely a noise level associated with staying at our venue. Earplugs are provided for anyone who is sensitive to noise. Please make a note of this as refunds will not be issued for reasons relating to train noise. This is a dry cabin. In other words, there is no running water in the cabin itself. There is a hot and cold water dispenser in the cabin. We like to refer to this as a “glamping” experience. There are rustic aspects that make it like camping, and yet other features that kick the experience up a notch (like flat screen television and WiFi). You will NOT be alone on premises. There are two other cabins which are normally fully booked, one which houses groups of up to 15 people. The entire venue is available for booking for special events.
