The space The inside of the Lyre River Hideaway upstairs apartment: Open living/kitchen area with views of the Sea. Kitchen: -- Includes pots/pans, dishes/utensils, stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot with filters, coffee grinder and dishwasher --Large island with counter seating --Soaps and sponge provided Living room: --Couch with chaise lounge -- Swivel recliner and rocking chair with ottoman -- Roku TV for entertainment --Picture window with views of the Sea --Free Wi-Fi --Board Games and puzzles Bedrooms: --Primary bedroom with Queen bed, chest of drawers and closet --Second bedroom with Full size bed and closet --Pillows and quality bedding provided --Both rooms have views of the Lyre River Bathroom: --Full bath with tub/shower combo --Towels provided --Beach towels provided (for taking to the beach, located in the pantry of the kitchen) Balcony: --Sliding glass door from living room leads out to balcony with a table and 4 chairs --Beautiful views of the Sea Outdoor Space: --Large side yard --Outdoor fire pit and picnic table (check to see if there is a Burn Ban before building fire) --Easy short walk down the road to the community shared private beach. --Bring your binoculars and camera for watching and capturing the active wildlife. Eagles and other sea birds are often at play. PLEASE NOTE: The privately owned beach is only for sitting and enjoying the surrounding beauty. Wading, swimming, paddling, surfing and fishing are strictly prohibited due to the currents. Swimming and wading in the Lyre River is also prohibited. There are public beach access points nearby (ie. Crescent Beach/Salt Creek, Twin Beach, Shipwreck Point and the Lyre Conservation Area) for swimming/surfing and fishing the Lyre River and the Strait and we encourage you to explore these areas if you desire to engage in swimming/surfing/fishing. The beach is also shared with one other vacation rental unit as well as the family property owners. We ask that if you are travelling with children that you not leave them unattended while outside due to the naturally occurring hazards of the river and sea. The stairs leading to the apartment are also quite steep, so please make sure you are aware of this BEFORE booking. Perfectly situated for enjoying the many hiking and outdoor adventures the Olympic National Park has to offer as well as dining, pubs, coffee shops, groceries and boutique shopping that can be found just 35 minutes east in downtown Port Angeles. Guest access To access the upstairs apartment, you must be able to navigate a moderately steep flight of stairs up to the apartment door. Free parking is located under the carport. The downstairs garage is for owner use only and is not a part of the rental. Guests will have access to a washer and dryer located in a closet in the carport. The outdoor firepit to the side of the apartment is for your use and wood is provided for you in the wood shed. **Outdoor fires are subject to Clallam county burn bans from July 1st to October 1st. Please check county website for any further bans before starting a fire. Other things to note The apartment sits on a shared family property that does have other homes on it, including one other vacation rental. The outdoor lawn to the right/east of the apartment with outdoor firepit and picnic table and the stretch of lawn to the south running along the river as far as the old club house may be enjoyed by guests. The privately owned stretch of beach may be enjoyed between the boundaries to the right of the boat ramp all the way to the mouth of the Lyre River to the east. Please do not walk on the beach to the west/left of the boat ramp as this stretch of beach is privately owned by the neighbors and is considered trespassing. You may enjoy sitting on the beach within these stated boundaries. Swimming, kayaking, paddling, surfing and fishing are strictly prohibited. Whatever you take to the beach must not be left and ALL trash must be removed to a proper trash can at the home. The privately owned beach is also shared with guests in the other vacation rental as well as the homeowners. No phone landline located at this home. Cell service can be spotty at times, but Wi-Fi calling works great. Washer and Dryer are located in the closet in the carport, your key will unlock the door. Looking for more space for more family/friends? We have an additional vacation rental on the property, a 3 Bedroom/2.5 bath on the beach. Check with hosts to see availablility. Together both homes can accommodate up to 10 guests.
