Description
Spacious, pet friendly &geared to family getaways.. Enjoy low-key Buckroe Beach, with a mile of sand and a dog friendly beach Labor Day to Memorial Day. Short drive to Grandview nature preserve, NASA/Langley AFB, Hampton U, Ft. Monroe/Outlook beach. 20 minutes to Yorktown beach. 30 minutes Busch Gardens/Colonial Williamsburg. The 1955 house is un-updated-- no dishwasher or ice maker, old (but clean) showers/bath, few outlets, etc== so please keep that in mind when booking. The space The Buccaneer is a 2 story, brick home with 2 queen bedrooms downstairs, plus a full, shared bath with a shower. Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms: Both with two twin beds each The upstairs bath has a shower and tub that has not been renovated--think tub with 2 shower curtains, not tiled. All bedrooms have Roku tv and the house has a fast internet package. There are 4 steps to enter the first floor of the home, then you will find a large living room with Roku tv. Also on this floor is a full bath with shower, a study for work from home with a large desk, and a large kitchen/ dining area. Please note: there is no dishwasher or icemaker and the kitchen is a little quirky (the cabinets stick and it has not been remodeled). The mud room off the kitchen contains a washer and dryer, and leads to a privacy fenced backyard with a Solo Yukon firepit. . Guest access Two off street parking spaces, plus street parking. This is a walkable, quiet, family neighborhood. If there is a special event at the beach, or during high season, the area can bustle, but generally this is a calmer stay (with calmer waves) than nearby VA Beach. Other things to note We have decorated the home with vintage charms from the 1980s and we hope you will have fun picking them out. Modern updates include new mattresses and quality bed linens, wifi and Nespresso coffee maker. However, if you are looking for a brand new beach house with floor to ceiling windows, or amenities such as a gourmet kitchen or a steam shower, this home won't be your style. It is built like how most houses were in the 50s--smaller windows to keep heat and AC in. It can be dark, but after a day in the sun, a dimly lit living room has appeal. Bathrooms and kitchen are well cleaned, but not updated. You will see stains that don't scrub off on the tub and cabinets that stick in the kitchen. There is no ice maker or dishwasher. We have priced it accordingly for not being "new". We require the last names and approximate ages of all guests who are staying at the property prior to check in. No parties
