A Bit of the "Lake" right in Town
The two star hotel in town is $111 per night. The 3 star is $173. Our space is an extra bedroom in our basement. Our bedroom is above you, so yes, light sleepers may hear a middle of the night trip to the bathroom, or us walking on our floor when we get up around 6:30 or go to bed at 10. You will walk down the hill in our yard, and enter from the back of our house. We have a large space with a view of the Millpond. Many guests enjoy a walk to the downtown area with its murals and small shops. We have a large basement bedroom with 1 queen and 1 double bed and a futon. We have an exposed basement, so you can enjoy the view of the Millpond and wildlife. The bedroom has a dorm sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The downstairs living room has a pool table. We also have a canoe, a kayak, and life jackets for use on the Mill Pond. We have a separate entrance for the basement. The basement full bath has a shower. The geese can be a bit noisy in late fall, but generally we live in a quiet, small-town, safe neighborhood. Our basement is cool in early spring and late fall, but we have a space heater for you to use as you wish. Please bring slippers or indoor shoes so that you can leave outdoor shoes on the mat by the door. We are walking distance to the city park, aquatic center, mini-golf, museums, a library, art center, a quilt fabric store, Sheboygan County fairgrounds, Plymouth Dirt Track Racing (which we can hear from 6 to 10 pm on Saturdays) and many nice antique stores. There are several restaurants within walking distance and more a short drive away including German, Italian, Irish, Mexican, Chinese food. We are a short drive to Road America, Wade House museum, Kohler and many golf courses including Whistling Straits and The Bull. We are also less than 30 minutes to a beautiful free Lake Michigan singing sand beach, and Blue Harbor water park and spa. Your hosts have lived here for over 30 years, and can help with questions about the area. This is a non-smoking home. You will need to walk down a hill into our backyard and enter from a separate entrance. I will be happy to help with local events and directions. Sidewalks allow a walk downtown . We do not have any public transportation. You will need a car in this rural area of Wisconsin. We have lots of on street parking.
