Cedar Hill Farm—A Friends Getaway in the “Gunks”
Description
When you and your friends getaway to Cedar Hill Farm your memories will extend beyond the farmhouse. The Shawangunk mountains function both as a stunning backdrop for a relaxing morning out on the porch or adventures hiking, biking, rock climbing or wine tasting next door at an award-winning vineyard. Join our 6 goats on 18 acres with picturesque pastures, fishing ponds and privacy. Please join us at Cedar Hill Farm for a magical and memorable getaway in the Gunks. The space The living room, dining room and bedrooms are colorful with a quirky blend of chic and antique furnishings with comfort as a priority. Each room is designed to feel as special as the 18 acre farm and the experience you will have while staying in this Hudson Valley getaway. Although the kitchen is not available for use, the dining room is supplied with coffee, tea, filtered water/ice. In addition, oatmeal, yogurt, nuts, peanut butter and hard cooked eggs are available for a convenient breakfast if you do not feel like going out in the morning. You may be tempted to spend the day enjoying the rockers on the large front porch with the mountain cliffs, stocked fishing ponds and our wandering goats in view. An unexpected rainstorm is nothing to dread, you will stay dry on the covered porch while you play a game, read a book and enjoy a bottle of wine from the award-winning Whitecliff Vineyard and Winery next door. Guest access The 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, porch and farm are for you to enjoy. However, since Jennifer and John live on the farm (but stay in a separate apartment) they may be working on the farm to maintain the grounds and care for the animals. They like to give their guests the space and privacy they desire but we will be in and out of the house periodically to refresh supplies and clean up the breakfast area when needed. Jennifer is a trained chef and may periodically be in the professional kitchen making a special treat for the morning. Other things to note Cedar Hill Farm is a peaceful, beautiful and unique place to stay when you are visiting the Shawangunk Mountains (the "Gunks") in the Hudson Valley. We welcome guests 18 yrs and older to maintain an adult environment. In addition, because you are staying at a farm with ponds and wandering goats this Airbnb is not appropriate for children. The driveway and walkways around the house and barn are not paved, therefore, the surfaces may be uneven and there is a risk you can trip. You do not want to wear spike high heals to walk around the farm since you will probably sink into the grassy areas. Flat or wedged heeled shoes/boots are best. During March and April and when there has been a lot of rain areas of the farm can get muddy.
