The Barn at Poplar

The Barn at Poplar is located 40 minutes from Grand Marais, just off the Gunflint Trail on beautiful Poplar Lake! You can either enjoy the lake from the deck, screen porch or take the gentle slope down to the dock for easy access to fishing, swimming, or canoeing. The cabin includes four bedrooms, two baths and a fully-equipped kitchen with brand-new appliances. We have a canoe for guest use and there is a public access nearby if you want to bring your own boat. The space The cabin has been remodeled with new carpeting, cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms. All bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor. The kitchen is fully-equipped with cookware, dinnerware, glassware, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and some basic cooking and baking supplies (spices, oil, flour, sugar, and coffee). We will supply bedding and towels, but you will need to bring your own beach towels, groceries, water and charcoal/lighter for the small Weber grill. There is a canoe available that includes paddles and life jackets. We do have some books, cards and a few games and puzzles. Guest access The entire home is included in the rental. We have a dock for swimming, fishing and a fire pit near the lake. Guests can access the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, camping, fishing, bike riding, hiking, and berry picking nearby. Other things to note If you need to stay in touch, we have Wi-Fi internet access and a phone for local calls. There is no cell phone service in the area, and the nearest city, Grand Marais, is 35 miles from the lake. 9 guests maximum and no pets allowed.
