If you want to experience the feeling of getting away from it all, then Tyddyn Tyfod is the place for you! The cottage comfortably sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms boasting an elegant & homely interior & offers a simple but luxurious base for a group retreat. It is idyllically positioned in a rural, peaceful location on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, 7 miles from Bala and Corwen. Hiking, golf, mountain biking, water sports, zip wires & go karting are all easily accessible. The space Start your day by enjoying your morning tea or coffee sitting outside on our benches looking at the beautiful mountains on the opposite side of the valley. INSIDE Kick off your shoes following a day full of adventure whilst the glow of the rustic woodburning stove gently warms the room. Discover the fully-fitted kitchen tucked away in the corner of the sociable space, beautifully-appointed with gleaming cupboards and housing a range of modern appliances including a handy dishwasher and washing machine. Perch at the breakfast bar and share a bottle of wine with the designated chef as they make use of the facilities before gathering together with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to enjoy your meal. This all is in our unique communal area, where you can cook, relax and watch television and sit and have dinner at our full length table for 8. All our beds are fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet covers, goose down and bounce back pillows. When sleep calls, you're spoilt for choice with four bedrooms - three doubles and one twin. Bedroom One has a Superking bed, Bedroom Two has a king size bed, Bedroom Three has a standard double bed and Bedroom Four has two single beds. Experience the total quietness as you snuggle down in your bed. Off Bedroom Two there is a mezzanine area where there is an extra single bed. On the ground floor is the main bathroom where you can relax in a roll top bath overlooking the mountains. Upstairs has a shower room and toilet. OUTSIDE With your nearest neighbours being half a mile away, you truly get a sense of being at one with your surroundings. Take your experience outdoors with a spot of alfresco dining on the large patio, enveloped by the peaceful backdrop of the surrounding wildlife and calming countryside setting, and warm your toes around the firepit as you gaze up at the stars, benefiting from the remoteness of the valley. ACTIVITIES Embark on a two-footed adventure following the plethora of local walking routes available from your doorstep, with views of the Snowdonia mountains on a clear day from the tops of the hills, or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the colourful grounds of the nearby Caerau Gardens followed by an indulgent slice of cake at the on-site cafe. Walk around the beautiful Lake Caer-Eunii, a 20 minutes walk from the house and on the way up to the Caerau Gardens. Enjoy the walks from the house, ranging from 20 minutes to 5 hours, taking on our high-test mountain - Foel Goch. And in the evening, a short 15 minute walk up to the bench gives stunning views of the sunset over our valley and the Berwyn Mountains before heading back to your relaxing retreat. Further afield is the tourist town of Bala, nestled on the banks of the renowned Llyn Tegid, here thrill-seekers can try their hand at water sports including windsurfing, white water rafting or canoeing, or if you'd prefer to stay on land, test your swing with a game of golf at the 9 or 18 hole course with spectacular views over Lake Bala. Alternatively, journey through the picturesque countryside aboard a heritage locomotive at Bala Lake Railway. For the petrol heads, GYG karting offers the largest go-kart track in Wales for most ages and is only a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Or, head to the beach – a one hour drive to the historic town of Harlech with its castle and miles of stunning golden sand. Head to the foot of Snowdon to hike the mountain within an hours drive or to Llanberis to get the train to the summit. The quaint town of Betws-y-Coed with all its traditional shops is a 40 minute drive away. Escape reality and breathe…… Guest access Being in such a remote area, the journey to Tyddyn Tyfod takes you through the most beautiful countryside, leading through the farm of Hafod Tudur and then down a track until you reach Tyddyn. The last 400m of the road is a track and is bumpy but is accessible for all cars. Just take your time and appreciate the remoteness of the area. There is ample parking for five cars right by the house. Other things to note We leave a welcome pack of milk, some biscuits, cake and savoury snacks. tea and coffee are also provided. Please bring with you all other food and shower gel. Towels are all provided. Three baskets of logs are also provided.
