Abbotstone Farmhouse is the ultimate rural retreat for a group of family, friends or colleagues to get together and sleeps up to 18 people. The generous living spaces on the ground floor allows large groups the space to socialise and spread out, whilst individuals can also find a quiet corner to relax in. Eight well-presented spacious bedrooms provide peaceful sleep and exploring the outdoors is a large scenic garden complete with pond, swimming pool and tennis court to keep everyone happy. Abbotstone Farm House has the unstuffy rural charm that comes with being over 200 years old and once the hunting lodge of the prince regent. It’s positioned in the secluded hamlet of Abbotstone, well connected to the local footpath network and has 6 acres of gardens to roam around in. The house is a typical country farm house, with historic details of former use, open fires and robust fittings. The layout of the house has evolved over the years as a family home and has rooms to suit any occasion. It has 8 well presented and comfy bedrooms split over 2 floors with 5 bathrooms to share, meaning the house can easily accommodate 18 people. There is an adjacent garden cottage that can be booked if extra space is required, along with an open plan converted barn for larger lunches, dinners and events. In the farmyard there is a tennis court that can be used at your leisure and up some steps from the house, a secluded pool with sun loungers, seating, table and parasol for lounging in the sun (The pool is usually open between April and October - but please get in touch for specific dates). Overlooking the lake is a terrace with seating and a firepit to sit around, catchup, toast marshmallows and watch the night settle in and the stars come out. Local catering legend, Becka Cooper, has her kitchen in the farm yard and can be called upon to help with whatever food you require, from casual Friday night dinner, to a 3-course celebration supper. Her food is local sourced, vibrant and generous, just let us know if you would like us to put you in touch. Guest access The whole property is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay, which includes the 6 acres of gardens to explore. Other things to note The pool is usually open between April and end of September- weather depending. Please contact us directly for more specific timings. The tennis court is shared with other properties and used on a first come first serve basis.
