This hand built 1973 two bedroom home is a charming and unique piece of bay area history. Built by the artist and instrument maker Richard Waters, this home is a sweet oasis from the modern world. It is silent, private & just 3 miles from town. It is also a farm-like environment, so please plan for warm days and cold nights, even in the middle of summer and also the "dirt and always in-progress" state of the outdoor areas. This little 1400 sq ft home is one of the sweetest pieces of land in the valley, built by hand this round house will bring you back to the 70s, with rainbow ceilings, sheep skin rugs, fire pits and hummingbirds galore. Full property, garden. Interaction will definitely depend on timing. The home is in lovely West County Sebastopol, surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. It is 3 miles from town and just miles away from several charming wineries and just 20 mins from Bodega Bay. You will need a car - but if you are an avid cyclist, this is the property for you... There are beautiful rides in every direction. The house is on a septic system, therefore the water is a bit minerally. This means that the toilets may look yellow, even if they have just been cleaned. We use the water for cooking, boiling, etc, but use a 5gallon water provided in the kitchen for drinking water, coffee, etc. This is a farm environment, it is muddy and dusty and it even has cobwebs!! I keep the house in excellent condition, but it is a constant work-in-progress, be forewarned. Finally the sun room of the house was designed inefficiently, but is nice in the winter for helping warm up the house. But in the summer, unless you are looking for a sauna, this is no place to consider a usable space.
