The Acequia House is a charming 2 bedroom home, centrally located and perfect for exploring Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. We are within walking distance to the historical Old Town plaza, Sawmill Market, museums, coffee shops, galleries, parks…and the list goes on! Relax in the courtyard and enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine with the beautiful sunset skies. Excellent wifi is available for those looking for a convenient and comfortable space to work remotely. The space This classic southwest home features wooden and terra-cotta floors, high ceilings in the living room, and adobe walls—with local artwork displayed throughout. Enjoy access to the main central courtyard—a peaceful oasis featuring a mix of xeriscaping, furnished dining patio, bubbling fountains, and the shade of mature trees. Herbs, native plants, and a variety of paving materials lend visual interest to this classic hacienda-style courtyard garden. A unique sanctuary in the middle of town, you will find a tranquil and harmonious space in which to relax after exploring the surrounding areas. Guest access As a guest, you will have access to your own parking space. There is also street parking available should you there be a need. The Old Town area is an excellent neighborhood for exploring, with close access to museums, parks, and restaurants. Walking through the area is a fantastic way to experience this historic area. We are also 15 minutes from the mountains and 15 minutes from the airport. Other things to note Parties and events are not allowed. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is allowed only outdoors. There is an ashtray provided for convenience. You might occasionally see me, John Henry, as I come by to feed my chickens mid-morning:) The chickens are across the courtyard and in their own space, are quite calm and only excitable when they see me coming to feed them. Additionally, there is a home on the other side of the large courtyard with a lovely family. You may see them coming in and out of the shared space and feeding the chickens as well.
