A Friend's Place - C4 Off Grid Caravan Cabin
A Friend's Place - C4 Off Grid Caravan Cabin
Description
Our place is based on recycling and being good stewards of the environment. We want to help people reconnect with each other and connect with nature. We believe in restoring dignity and respect to people and things. Our guests have said "This is what it was like to go on holidays in the 70s". No Wi-Fi. No aircon. No TV. There are many trees, a central area where you can hang out with people and you can bring your pets. We also have a selection of puzzles and board games for guests to use. The space Your caravan cabin is basic but neat and tidy, with electricity, running water and gas for hot showers. There is no aircon. In the caravan section the rear end has a bedroom with a double bed, the middle section has a small kitchenette and seating nook and the front end has a set of bunk beds. In the annex section there are more beds (single bunk on top, double bed down the bottom), a small lounge and coffee table and a bathroom hidden behind a sliding door. The place is prepared with linen, towels, hair care, body wash, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We recommend you bring blankets in winter as we only provide a coverlet. For cooking, you will find a camper stove inside the oven with butane gas bottles under the sink. If you're not sure how to use it- just ask. Outside your cabin, there is a patio with a table and chairs for your use. There is a gazebo with a BBQ a few metres away and down on the next level, there is a large communal area, you are welcome to use. We back onto Conjola National Forest. We are close to pristine beaches, great swimming spots, parks, boat ramps, waterfront properties, clubs, entertainment and excellent fishing spots. Bring some fishing gear if you like or you can hire it from the Marine Centre on Jacobs Drive. The courtesy bus from the RSL and Bowling Club will leave you off in our driveway. Bring camping chairs or a picnic blanket, for an evening picnic, down near the water. We are still under construction and we recycle material wherever possible, so you may see building materials on the lower terraces. We are off grid, so please turn off lights and fans to conserve energy wherever possible. No smoking allowed inside the cabins. If you smoke outside, please put butts in pot plants. We will cover them over with potting mix and allow them to compost. Toilets are vermicomposting. Worms can only eat organic matter. Please do not put any plastic, silicon or non degradable products down the toilet. Rubbish: We have separate bins for bottles/ cans, organic matter, recyclables and rubbish. To help the environment please put your rubbish in the correct bin. Do not leave rubbish outside your cabin as it will invite wild animals and their predators, closer to your door. Your rubbish could also blow into the forest or valley. Guest access We have car parking spaces near the pergola, but we have a drop off area near Cabin 12, where you can unload the car, kids and pets and then park in the car park. There is a walkway that will help you get from your car to your cabin, without walking on sand. In your cabin, there is a step up into the caravan section, but the annex is all on ground level, for easier access. We have push button locks on our cabins and will give you the code when you arrive. Let us know if you are coming for a special occasion and we will see if we can help you make it more memorable. We like to meet our guests and show you to your cabin but we know that if you're travelling long distances, you might arrive after 10pm. If so, show yourself to your cabin and we will see you in the morning. Other things to note We are off grid, so please turn off lights and fans to conserve energy wherever possible.
