Roper's Cozy Rock Cabin
Relax in this native stone rustic cabin built of local rock and cedar logs. With a waterfall trickling into a spring tank pool right outside your back door & a cozy gas log fire beside your queen bed, you’ll never want to leave. Nestled in the Roasting Ear Creek valley on 200 private acres, this cabin is the perfect spot for a couple to relax and unplug. There’s a big screened porch for lounging with a HOT TUB, an outdoor kitchen, dining area, ceiling fans, & beautiful views. The space The Rock Cabin is made from natural Ozark stone and cedar beams harvested from the property on which it sits. The deep, cold spring behind the cabin is fed by a tinkling (or roaring during a rain) waterfall about 4 steps from the back door. This spring tank is the water supply for the property and empties into the small “branch” that runs behind the cabins. There’s no swimming allowed in the spring tank, but there are plenty of places to swim at the creek! This property is also home to Meadowview Cabin on Roasting Ear Creek. Check it out if you need more space or if someone would like to join you on your adventure. The cabin interior is rustic but cozy, with a queen bed and rocking chair. We’d like to let you know that a recent guest had a mishap with the door, and that while a new one has been ordered, it has not yet arrived. Our temporary repair is not very noticeable, and the coded lock will be installed with the new door. The large modern screened in porch houses the outdoor kitchen with a full-sized sink and fridge, air fryer/small oven combo, blackstone, and large traditional gas bbq grill with a cooking burner, as well as a dining table, chairs, and space to hang out, including the new HOT TUB!!! The Stilt Cabin next door can be rented separately and may host other guests, but they won’t share your space. If you’d like to have the whole property to yourself, you can reserve both, just go to my profile to see all my listings. The 2 cabins are within shouting distance of each other. You might run into the other guests or your host when you're out roaming the property, but nobody shares your cabin spaces. The large house on the property is under construction and will be for some time to come. There are no permanent residents on the creek, but Wade lives a few minutes away so can be there quickly if you need anything during your stay. Guest access You’ll have access to our 200 acre property on a mile of Roasting Ear Creek. It’s located through a locked gate, down 1 mile of well-maintained gravel drive. Parking is adjacent to your cabin. Swimming holes are not open to the public and are for our guests only. There is 1 other cabin currently renting on this property (click on Wade's profile to see all his listings and check out the Meadowview Cabin), so you might encounter other guests out and about, but with 200 acres to roam, you'll have plenty of privacy. The rock cabin is tucked behind a larger house that is empty and under construction. Both cabins can be booked to secure the whole property for you and your group. There is a lot to explore here. Ozark Mountain Trail Rides operated here in the 1970's and 80's, and some of the old buildings from that time remain. Dense woods line the tall bluffs, which circle the valley and frame the creek. No guest atv’s or utv’s are allowed on the property. Other things to note We are located in a remote area with wildlife, insects, and few amenities. There is no internet access and no cell service. Come prepared to unplug from technology! ****PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE ADDRESS WE SEND YOU FOR THE GPS UPON ARRIVAL!!!! DO NOT TYPE IN 996 ROPERS CAMPGROUND IN YOUR GPS**** The property surrounding us is owned by other people who do not welcome trespassing. Please remain on our land during your stay. Being a good neighbor is important to us, and we depend on our guests to respect property boundaries.
