This loft studio is located in a building in the prevailing neoclassical style, registered on the list of national cultural monuments. The building played its role in the nation’s history while at the turn of the 18th and 19th century, it housed Václav Jelínek's printing house where famous figures like Anton Bernolák, Juraj Fándly, Ján Hollý or Jozef Ignác Bajza were personally bringing their manuscripts for proofreading and printing. In its era, this print works significantly contributed to maintenance and spread of Slovak national awareness with i.e. the first twenty books of the Slovak Learned Society produced here. Throughout the loft studio you will find the theme of wood - from which the paper is made; white decor - evoking the paper for books printing itself; black and blue flooring and details - such as the ink used in the printery; and minimalism - refering to built quality and utilityness of old industrial machines. Same as the “white ink”, this site also leaves a fine but an undisputable trace.
