Straw House Farm - Stanthorpe Straw Studio Cottage

Not only the 3 little pigs got to stay in a straw house. You can too ! This unique property is just over 2 hours from Brisbane, minutes from Stanthorpe and in the middle of so many things to see and do. Use the Straw House as a convenient base to explore the first-class eateries and wineries with their award-winning wines. Walk it all off at one of the region's famous national parks. Kids and well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Undercover parking is available for all visitors. The space THE STRAW HOUSE FARM is a unique studio style of accommodation. The cottages are made of straw bales and stucco making them both warm in winter, cool in summer and insulated from the outside world. You can either stay in one of our straw cottages, sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids. The Straw House Farm BNB is set on 22 acres which you are welcome to explore. Take a walk through the apple orchard and in season sample the fruit, take a bottle of wine, a cheese platter and something to sizzle to the fire pit or on the BBQ and make a night of it. Visit the chickens, feed and pet our two big boys, highland cows Aklan and Bahookie. There is lots of room to roam and to relax. The Straw House Farm offers 2 straw bale cottages. Each cottage has a queen size bed and a fold down sofa bed great for an adult or little kids. The bedding is Sheridan, the tea selection is T2, and your own Nespresso machine awaits. Make a new best friend with one of our four beautiful ALPACAS (Pablo, Eduardo, Diego and Nigel) who have checked in permanently to the Straw House. You are welcome to help out or just hang out with them during your stay. And we now have 10 miniature goats, and counting. There are three lovely ladies and two little boys. Their names are Pippin, Fancy Pants, Screaming Sally, Rupert & Rex. The big babies George, Gerry, Charlie, Chelsea and Rafael could not be cuter and love to be picked up and cuddled. In December 21 we welcomed the very cute and cuddly Domonic, Damian, Luca & Lucy. They are lots of fun and are hand fed. Their favourite food is raisin toast, you are welcome to feed them!! Last Christmas our cow collection increased with the arrival of three gorgeous girls. Bonnie, Holly and Ivy are Sottish Belted Galloways. In Feb 2021 Bonnie gave birth to Benny, the cutest guy in town. His new best mate Hamish arrived thanks to Holly in March. Baby Gus joined Team Straw House in September. His favourite food is marshmallows. There is also much to do outside the gates of the Straw House. We are just a few minutes from not only some of the region’s best wineries, favourites include Heritage Estate (a wonderful experience) and The Summit but also a stones throw from the Maze, Law Dogs, The Christmas Farm, Stanthorpe Cheese and Sutton’s Juice Factory, Cidery and Café with their award-winning products and the apple pie abound. Travel through Stanthorpe for more wineries and specialty establishments and if you desire, walk it all off at one of the region's famous national parks which include Girraween, Bald Rock and Sundowner. Guest access Just give us a call when you arrive at the Straw House Farm (number on the front sign) and we will meet you at the gate and show you to your undercover car park, your accommodation and give you a tour of the farm. Other things to note This is an open plan space. It suits 2 adults easily in a queen bed and can also accommodation 2 kids in the same space, on a fold out sofa/blowup.
