Description
We converted our cottage from an old derelict workshop. Located on a quiet secluded lane just behind the High Street, it offers visitors a peaceful haven close to amenities. Featuring stone walls, woodburning stove, double height living room, the cottage has lots of character. Direct trains from London Waterloo, no car needed, the station is a few minutes walk. Great for a family with young children, or two couples utilising the sofa bed in the snug ( which has its own bathroom). The space The cottage was converted from an old stable building, with many of the original features such as exposed stone walls, vaulted spaces and original timber roof trusses retained, creating a space with plenty of charm combined with modern detailing. The main bedroom overlooks the double height living space with its stone walls and woodburning stove. The cottage is ideally suited to a family with young children, with a second bedroom containing two full size cabin beds located off the main bedroom. There is the further option of a second bedroom downstairs in the snug with a comfortable sofa bed and own ensuite bathroom. On cold winter evenings there is nothing better than settling down snugly inside watching the woodburning stove casting shadows across the stonework, whilst on warmer days the south facing garden with its lawn and seating catches the sun. Guest access Entire cottage. Other things to note We have a bee hive in our garden. The bees can be quite active in warm, sunny weather but aren't a problem unless the hive is disturbed. If you prefer we can cordon off the hive during your visit.
