Get away from the city while still on the grid. Our rustic, pet friendly, comfy home is nestled between 2 ponds, wildlife, hiking trails, lakes, rivers, & more. We’re centrally located between HWY 50 & 80. Your room has it’s own entrance, private bath, close parking & fast Wi-Fi. In the winter we’re close to skiing, & in summer, Bassi Falls, Loon Lake, & 15 mins to Stumpy Meadows for trout fishing & kayaking. Our main pond is full of Blue Gil and Bass, & Leeloo our big lab will greet you! Rustic setting with emphasis on relaxation. We treat the Main Pond with a special bacteria so the water is suitable for swimming, and is fed by fresh water from Stumpy Meadows Lake during the spring & summer. The home is small (1242 sq ft) but set-up so privacy is key for all residents. The bedroom has been furnished specifically for Airbnb, with everything purchased new for the utmost enjoyment. There is a guest room (if available) for an additional $25 per night. Children are welcome and must be watched at all times as we are surrounded by water. We are a pet friendly household with a super friendly lab and cat on site. Your pets must be house trained, fixed (not intact), and never left unattended unless arrangements have been made. We sanitize all linens, including the bed blankets and comforter, between every stay. We are only 1 mile out of town with easy access to the grocery store, neighborhood bars including the Georgetown Hotel, 7 restaurants and a deli, and a gas station - all within one mile. Leave room to open the gate but not so far back that your car blocks the driveway. Enter the gate and walk up the short set of stairs on the LEFT side of the home. Open the black gate protecting the deck and you will see the RED door with the coded entry which is your own entrance to be used. Please keep all gates closed behind you. If you see a blocked date for preparation time - and need that date - message me to see if we can make it happen. I'm a firm believer of giving privacy. If you don't need any help during your stay and want to be left alone, I'm good with that. I’m usually available to help with any questions or house instructions, places to visit, etc. Children must be watched at all times due to all the water - there is a variety of sizes of PFDs provided for when a child is near the water. Pet interaction - First of all, make sure you have added your pet to your booking. That way if there’s an unrepairable “accident” you’re covered by Airbnb’s insurance. All pets need to be protected with flea and tick medicine, and fully house trained. My dog Leeloo is a lover and she’ll be your dog’s best friend. In case of a power outage, we have a full-house generator and propane heat - you can even do laundry! I have provided a house manual in your room with all the necessary information and instructions. Rural country setting 30 minutes from Placerville and Auburn. Special location due to all of the ponds we have in our area - at least 13 ponds surround us. Wonderful easy hiking area just a few minutes walk from our front door. We’re only one mile from town. AWD vehicle recommended during winter stays as we do get snow every year. You need a car, preferably an AWD vehicle for snow days and exploring. Hiking boots/shoes are a must for all of the great places we have to explore. Due to our location, we are a strict No cigarette smoking property. Vape is ok. Also drinking alcohol is fine but intoxication or problems stemming from alcohol use may be grounds for immediate cancellation of your stay. We are rural. We're located smack-dab between Highway 50 and Highway 80, and you have to travel the canyon road to get to Placerville or Auburn. Each way of travel is approximately 30 minutes from our home. Our location makes it perfect for skiing, touring and hiking (nearby Apple Hill, Auburn Recreation Area, Placerville and other historic towns), gambling at our local Red Hawk Casino, wine and beer tasting, Tahoe, and much more. If you're renting a car, an AWD SUV would be best for exploring and driving in winter conditions. There's plenty of parking, including one space right next to your front door!
