The space - Large picture windows for bringing the natural light inside. - The master suite has a king size bed (500 lbs max weight) with luxury mattress, a prayer/mediation nook; sitting area with couch, recliners, electric fireplace and tv; and a bathroom with shower. - The sunken living room in the retreat house has a large sectional couch, tv, and cast iron gas stove heater. - The spacious screened in porch overlooking a koi/ goldfish pond, has multiple seating options for enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature any time of the day. - Hot tub amenity option for all retreat guests w a signed liability waiver and scheduled time/semi private. Excellent quality tap water thru Rwd #12 (Not private well water). Guest access The property is located on a paved road and a gravel driveway down into the valley. During snow/ice, guests may be required to be shuttled to/from the higher entrance area near the main road. Check-in 4 p.m. - 10 p.m., no earlier check-ins. Please exercise caution when enjoying the peaceful acreage in this rugged valley. Please stay on maintained trails and obey all signs. Trail maps are provided. Other guests will be staying on the retreat grounds and all are required to abide by rules of quiet and respect for others. The grounds are nearly 100% wooded with old growth oaks, elms, hickories, walnuts, cedars, and many other varieties. You will find yourself renewed after experiencing all the valley has to offer. Note: Under Kansas law, there is no liability for an injury or death of a participant in a registered agritourism activity conducted at this registered agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of such agritourism activity. You will be hard pressed to find anywhere a more remote and peaceful location so close to a major metropolitan area. The property includes 32 acres of old growth trees, hills, and streams. A full kitchen with refrigerator (icemaker in freezer), stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and sink is included. Groceries can be purchased in town. Common cookware and tableware is provided. Nearby Leavenworth and Atchison have a wide variety of national chain and local mom and pop dining establishments. Communication note: due to the remoteness of the valley, connectivity with the outside world is limited. Please read and understand the following notes below.
