Beautiful Cabin on a Private Pond
Description
Our peaceful off-grid cabin lies on the edge of a four acre pond surrounded by rolling hills and forests with several kilometers of hiking trails. Enjoy swimming or rowing in the pond and watching the sunset from the cabin’s covered porch. In the cooler months, spend time relaxing inside by the wood stove or at the pond-side bonfire pit. The space The cabin is approximately 400sqft and is powered by solar panels and a battery. We have set up wifi, a two burner propane stove with an exhaust fan, a marine faucet sink with drinkable water, a pond-fed, heated outdoor shower (May 1 - Oct 31 or the weather goes below 0° – whichever comes first), a composting toilet and lighting throughout the interior, on the porch, and some pathway lighting outdoors. The bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed with a memory foam mattress and there are white curtains that can be closed to separate the bedroom from the living and dining area. The living /dining area includes a coffee table with a couch and two armchairs as well as a dining table with four chairs and a wood-burning stove. Enjoy the view of the pond and its small private island (which is home to a wide range of wildlife including ducks, herons, and turtles) from the 200 sqft west-facing covered porch. A small dinghy with oars accompanies the pond with two adult life jackets, one infant (up to 30 lbs) and one kid’s (30-60 lbs). Relax on the muskoka chairs along the bank of the pond while enjoying nature. Olive oil, salt and pepper are provided. Due to our current solar capacity we do not have a fridge in the cabin, but instead provide a large cooler.
