This mobile home offers incredible serenity, especially wintertime and it's a short walk from the reservoir. We hope you'll find yourself and adventure in our piece of paradise. The space We're a family owned RV Park & Campground located on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir. Together with our crew, we're excited to welcome you into our newly adopted home. We are extremely excited to be taking the reins at Paradise Shores and continuing the legacy that Alan and Veronika have built over the past 11 years. When we first set eyes on Paradise Shores in early 2021, we fell in love with the charm and character of the place, and feel very fortunate to be trusted stewards going forward. We've been working with Veronika and Alan through this year learning the ropes, and they continue to be involved supporting us (remotely at this point), along with the existing team. We are committed to maintaining the same standards and mellow welcoming community vibe that had us fall in love with PS, and look forward to hopefully hosting you soon and being part of your Sierra adventure! Please request the booking via this listing and you're welcome to check the previous reviews of guests who stayed at the Blu House via the link to Veronika & Alan's Co-host profile below. We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses. When you arrive we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation. Note: Please read the entire listing description, prior to requesting the booking. THE BLU HOUSE: Welcome to the Blu House! If you looks closely, you’ll find signs of a family growing up in this home; the marks of kid's heights etched on the door frame; pictures moved up and down leaving the tell tale nail holes. The house does tell the story of love and family growth, intertwined with the passion for the Eastern Sierra.. And then there are the birds chirping, the snow-capped mountains, the magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the reservoir, and unspeakable beauty of this country one can easily fall in love with. We open our home to you and hope you love it as much as we do. The Blu House sleeps five and is a perfect fit for a family or group of close friends who know each other well and are comfortable together. The primary bedroom comes with super comfy queen size bed and en suite full bathroom with shower. The secondary bedroom has adult size queen over queen bunk beds. There's also a second half bathroom with sink and toilet across the hallway from the master bedroom. Please note that both the primary bedroom and its en suite bathroom have curtains instead of door to maximize on the space; we hope you will be comfortable with this setup and will embrace it. A private hot tub, full size farmhouse sink, wood burning stove (please bring your wood) and large screen projector with home theater (DVDs provided) are just a few of our favorite features. You can't beat the serenity of this place, especially in the winter. The house and pretty much the whole area is just incredibly peaceful between November and March and it's a perfect destination to experience the winter magic, be still and see into the heart of the universe (stargazing is off the charts here!), and get away from the city hustle and bustle. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware, glasses, cups, plates, paper towels, soap, and all the typical kitchenware. You’ll also find there coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and olive oil. So, all you really need to bring is some clothing and food. Pretty much everything else is covered. Our rate includes space rent, propane, wifi, a parking spot as well as 12% Mono County occupancy tax (TOT). We can accommodate extra vehicle/s for a fee; please message us if you need the additional parking space at the time of requesting the booking. Free extra parking available between November and March. It's important to us that our guests don't feel they are renting a house as much as they're immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to sit outside and read for days. For the more adventurous, there's a full slate of self-guided recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards, bird watching, campfires & s'mores. We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet, however, we encourage our guests to “unplug" and immerse in the slower paced life instead. We constantly improve and update the decor in our rentals in effort to make your stay more pleasant and memorable. We hope you enjoy and appreciate some changes and finishing touches that may not have been captured in the photo gallery above Guest access You will have access to the entire house. When our RV camp is open (late April through mid-October) you are welcome to hang out at our various common areas with fire rings and barbecues, which we tend to improve every year. We host bonfires on most Saturdays in the summer season, weather permitting, you're welcome to join in. In the fall/winter, you can enjoy the serenity of this place as you will be our only guests on the property. We have couple of kayaks, SUP and paddle boat at the camp that our guests can use for free on the reservoir when the entire camp is open, and for your winter fun, there's June Mountain ski area 45 minutes drive away and Mammoth Mountain ski area an hour drive away from here. Closer to the house, you can venture into Virginia Lakes area overlooking Mono Lake to ski or snowshoe there and end your daily adventures soaking in the unique Travertine Hot Springs located just 10 minutes from here. Other things to note As we welcome people to our home, we would love to know who our guests are (via the "vibe" of their profile: photos, description, previous reviews, if any etc). We do understand though that this may be your first time booking via AirBnB. In case you haven't already, please add a photo of yourself and short description giving us a feel of who you are, what you're passionate about, what you enjoy doing in your free time etc., and verify your profile with the government ID. Please let us know who will be joining you on the adventure. First time in the Eastern Sierra? What has drawn you to our RV camp? We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon! We only accept requests from guests with fully completed and verified profiles. Please don't request our place if you're not willing to truly be part of AirBnB community. We're so grateful for all the wonderful travelers we've been able to connect with and host over the years thanks to AirBnB! Taxes, like death, are unavoidable. Our rates include 15% Transit Occupancy Tax (TOT) that is mandatory for any guests staying in Mono County for less than 31 days. Please keep in mind that some of the mountain passes - Tioga Road (main road to Yosemite – HWY 120), Sonora Pass (HWY 108), and Monitor Pass (HWY 89) typically close at some point in November and don’t open until May or later, depending on the snowpack. Also, some of the passes can be closed during stormy weather. This is especially true in the spring and fall. Plan accordingly and always check CalTrans info before traveling. Our camp is located on the Bridgeport Reservoir and we cannot control nor guarantee the water level. The water level varies greatly, based on the snowpack and time of year and will be low if there's a little snow in the winter. Typically, the lake’s edge will also recede as the season progresses. So, if you are coming later in the season (late August onwards), you should expect the water level to be lower. With that said, the views and our sunsets are still breathtaking! At Paradise Shores, we believe in protecting people, animals and the planet. We make sure that the majority of products we use at our camp is recycled, composted or re-used. * We strive to reduce the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility. * We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products. * Essential oils are used to clean our rentals. * We use plant and planet friendly detergent. We live in the desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day life and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh water. * The water used to wash our linens and towels is recycled to irrigate the numerous gardens on our property. * In all our rentals, we provide our guests with “plant friendly” cleaning products. By only using eco friendly products, we are able to use the kitchen and shower’s water to irrigate our gardens. We hope you can help us maintain the greener camping!
