The 1st floor at the 1860s Waterfall Retreat-amazing backyard views of the waterfall and convenient location to all of Lancaster: Sight&Sound, Lancaster Central Market, Dutch Wonderland, Spooky Nook Sports, Strasburg Railroad, Lititz & more. The backyard & your private walking bridge to the park allows you to hike, fish, walk the dog, canoe/kayak the creek, play horseshoes, croquet, etc. When night starts to fall, gather by the fire pit or wood stove! The space It's historical construction yet modern updates and super convenient location make this a one of a kind retreat! The first floor with private access, gives you ample access to entertain with epic waterfall views. Because it is an 1860s home, sounds galore permeate the walls and you will hear the creaking of the old floor boards, the clip clop of horse and buggies outside as well as the modern car traffic and any upstairs foot traffic. The layout is unique to have an old home be 2 units, but it was specially designed in order to have a live in caretaker for one of the early homeowners. BRINGING A DOG? We love hosting families with pups - Contact us in ADVANCE of booking and tell us about your pup(s). Please verify that the pup is up to date on shots and flea and tick preventative (i.e. BEFORE submitting a reservation request or booking). If approved, we will only charge additional fees if there is additional cleaning, damage or issues associated with the stay. Dogs will be required to be kept on leash while on our property and be cleaned up after for the enjoyment of all. Guest access You will have access to the entire 1st floor apartment along with the downstairs porch. The backyard and parking area is shared space with the owner and other potential guests that rent the 2nd floor apartment. There are separate private entrances for the different floors. Other things to note Parking is available for preferably 1 car, but 2 if needed. If you plan on hosting other folks or having extra cars, please contact us in advance, so that we can guide you appropriately! All cars must enter and exit the property face forward and not block any other cars from doing the same at all times, as there may be other guests using the upstairs during your stay. One of the owners is a volunteer firefighter and must always have quick access to be able to respond. Thank you for your attention to this very important detail.
