This Standard Room has a King Bed, a bathroom with shower, private entrance, parking in front and all our standard amenities notably Aircon, DSTV and Free WiFi (see "The Space"). You'll enjoy our small holding with an extensive garden in a quiet neighbourhood, a walking trail to our own dam, 2 pools, lapas & braais. It is on the smaller side and does not have a self catering kitchen - see our Luxury Studio for a bigger or Self Catering Unit for 2. Breakfast available for extra fee. The space OUR ROOMS All rooms include our standard amenities: Aircon, DSTV, Free WiFi, bar fridge, microwave, hospitality tray, iron & board, hairdryer, wardrobe, desk and small safe. Private entrance & parking in front. Each rooms is different and we've highlighted the differences in the Listing Description above. OUR PROPERTY ilanda Guest House is located just outside the town of White River, just opposite Uplands College, surrounded by Macadamia farms, the White River Nature Reserve and residential neighbourhoods. The nearest airport is Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) a 20 minute drive away. The guest house is close to Kruger National Park, Nelspruit, the Panorama Route including God's Window, Waterfalls & Blyde River Canyon, and other Mpumalanga sights. Our accommodation being spread across 3 ground floor buildings with each room being different, we recommend guests choose the one best fitting their needs - whether a smaller room to sleep and go or a larger more comfortable self catering unit. The buildings are set amongst an extensive 3 hectare garden planted with many indigenous trees, succulents plants and fruit trees making an enjoyable afternoon walk. In season guests are welcome to pick ripe Litchi, Avocado, Loquat, Pecan and Macadamia nuts. The garden attracts many birds, 120 species on our bird list, with many having become quite confiding and easily observed. A small selection which we propagate for the garden are available for sale. There is an additional 5 hectares of natural grassland with a dam accessible for a walk where many small mammals can be observed. Common Duiker, Dwarf Mongoose, Marsh Mongoose, White Tailed Mongoose are resident. The more patient observer might have the luck of seeing Cape Clawless Otter, Porcupine, Greater Cane Rat. Our chicken run holds a small flock of Boschveld chicken. WiFi is available for free in all rooms and common areas. Two swimming pools with lapa and seating are available for a dip, to relax or enjoy a Braai / BBQ. Braais are available free of charge to be used in the garden, by the swimming pool or on the patio of your room. A complimentary “Kruger Pack” with binoculars and a map of Kruger Park can be borrowed on a first come first serve basis. The property is secured with an electric fence connected to an armed-response security company, outdoor lighting, a remote activated main gate and CCTV cameras. Staff and the owners also live on site in a separate building. Guest access You have access to your unit and all the outside areas in our 9 hectare property including the 2 swimming pools with covered lapas (entertainment area), extensive garden, walking trail to our private dam. Other things to note About Loadshedding: We currently do not have a generator. But an emergency lamp is provided in your room, the gate is battery powered, so access is guaranteed, and water is available but pressure will be lower. There is power in town when we are load-shedding. You can find load-shedding schedules on Eskom Se Push App, our suburb is “White River outlying”. We are planning a solar, inverter & battery backup solution but currently don't have a definite timeline.
