Rolling Stone Farmhouse, a charming 1930’s home lovingly restored. Conveniently located within 5 miles of Patuxent River Naval Air Station, and 2 miles to St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Located on a farm with sweeping views of the fields and ponds, with an English garden right beside the back porch. Private, quiet, relaxing but within 10 minutes of shopping and restaurants. During your stay, the house and yard are dedicated to just you and your guests. Rolling Stone Farmhouse has a large, eat-in kitchen and a cozy living room. The retro kitchen is large & fully equipped with a standard fridge (no ice maker/small freezer), gas stove, & ample cooking supplies such as utensils, cookware, blender, and coffee maker. Please note that there is not a dishwasher. The upstairs master suite features original exposed beam ceiling with a king size bed. The living room has comfortable country furniture and a 43” TV with basic cable & WiFi. There is a spacious & bright bathroom with a handicap accessible shower & plenty of towels and toiletries. There are two bedrooms downstairs with double beds, and closets for hanging clothes. So the space can accommodate 6 guests: ideally a family or close friends as there is only one bathroom. The back porch offers seating that is perfect for sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktails. The large open property provides ample parking. There is a deck outside and is a wonderful space for relaxing and viewing the pond. This is a working farm so there could be field/pasture work happening and potential traffic to and from the outbuildings. The home and yard are available for guest use. This is a working farm and field/pasture activity could be occurring, as well as traffic to and from the outbuildings. I live right down the street & am always available by phone within an hour & a half. I usually have minimal interactions with guests unless they have any specific questions or concerns which I am happy to help with! I manage the property myself & I do occasionally go out of town. I will let guests know if I will not be in town during their trip so that I can make sure that they have everything that they anticipate needing before their trip. I also provide an in depth guidebook that has numerous suggestions for restaurants, bars, shopping & things to do in the area as well as house rules & info. The farm is located in a quiet, rural area. There is a tavern across the street (The Green Door) which is fun for casual drinks and taco/pizza night. We are two miles away from Historic St. Mary's City and St. Mary's College of Maryland. This is a great outdoor museum of the first capitol of Maryland, and the St. Mary's campus has been voted one of the most scenic in the United States! We are also five miles from the Patuxent Naval Air Station and the air museum! Shopping and restaurants are about 15 minutes away and Solomon's Island is a 20 minute drive. As a rural community there is very limited mass transportation. Plan to drive most places and Uber/Lift is available.
