Description
A spacious & comfortable Studio. Self contained & private. The Studio is part of the historic ‘Listed’ Grade II* Kennet House, built in 1701 by the Bishop of Oxford, nestled near the village pond, the church & the village pub. The Studio is an airy, calm space: Kitchenette & table 3 seater sofa & smart TV King size bed & dressing table Bathroom: bath with a shower Washing machine, iron & board Entrance hallway: ideal for bikes & boots. The Studio is on the first floor via a private staircase. The space Kennet Stables Studio is an airy space with a kitchenette & dining area, a sitting area and a king size bed and dressing table. The bathroom has a bath with a shower option. We have provided hand soap, body wash and shampoo. There is cleaning spray and a glass wiper for the bath & shower space. There is also a washing machine and a drying rack, an iron & board. In the sleeping area there is a cupboard with shelving, a cupboard with hangers & a long bench for clothes or belongings. There is a dressing table with lights, there is also an additional place to use the hairdryer (provided for you) with a mirror and tabletop. The positioning of the smart TV ensures that you can comfortably watch it from the 3 seater sofa, or from your king size bed. We have left a jigsaw puzzle, a game and a set of playing cards for you to enjoy. The kitchenette has new appliances; an induction hob & a comprehensive microwave, a kettle & toaster plus the fridge with a freezer compartment to enable you to self cater. There is washing up liquid, plus there are cleaning products. There is olive oil with salt & pepper plus a selection of tea & coffee, and freshly delivered (semi skimmed) milk in the fridge, ready for your arrival. The 3 windows in the Studio space look out onto lush trees in a garden. It is south facing, allowing warm sunshine in. The blinds are all blackout ensuring sleep any time of the day. The window in the bathroom is north facing with views over the courtyard, across the village rooftops towards the Ridgeway and the racing gallops where the race horses train daily. The external entrance leads into a self-contained hallway on the ground floor, ideal for storing bicycles or luggage, hanging your coats, leaving shoes & muddy boots. This area is private for your use only. The Studio is on the first floor via a direct and private staircase. No other guests, nor we, have access whilst this is your home. Outside there are 2 white metal slatted chairs with cushions by the green hedge, please feel free to use it and enjoy the south facing sunshine. There is also a bright blue bench, nestled in the corner by the urn, that enjoys the later west sun. Guest access The entrance hallway on the ground floor are all your private space. The private staircase leading up to the first floor is only accessible to you. The Studio in the first floor is all yours! No-one else has access whilst it is your home. Other things to note Kennet Stables are part of a historic family home built in 1701. It is Grade II* Listed. Our home is in the picturesque village of East Ilsley, in West Berkshire. We are located in the middle of the village, close to the pond, the churches, and the village pub, all within a few minutes walk. There are beautiful walks and biking tracks accessible through the village without a need to drive. There is a local map in the online Guide Book with our favourite walks highlighted. We hope you will enjoy them too. Please note that this property is not recommended for toddlers or children due to the open staircase directly from the Studio with no child safety options. If you have a baby then we can provide a ‘Baby Dan’ travel cot with mattress comforter by request when booking. There would also be space to store a pushchair or pram in the entrance hallway.
