Stunning Cornish Waterfront Boathouse for Two

Your waterfront retreat in the ancient fishing village of Polruan, Cornwall awaits with breathtaking views across the Fowey Estuary. This 16th century boathouse has been lovingly converted into a highly unique accommodation for two. Tangier Quay Boathouse is a bijou, 7 metre x 3 metre harbourage right on the Polruan waterfront. The relaxing ocean inspired decor will immediately put you in holiday mode. Both levels enjoy unlimited harbour views through the huge glass windows and doors. Open plan living room under floor heating and wood burning stove. Smart TV, Alexa, board games, card games, Cornish history and guide books. Well equipped kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave/grill and ceramic hob. PLEASE NOTE NO OVEN! Ocean inspired shower room with both overhead and hand held shower. Mezzanine double bedroom with Egyptian cotton bed linen. Please note the bedroom has a sloping ceiling so watch your head! If you’re well over 6ft our little boathouse may not be ideal for you. This is one of 2 side by side ancient boat shed conversions, the other being our permanent home. Please note that our spacious waterfront yard is shared with us. We live next door so are on hand for anything you need, just drop us a message or knock on our door. Our little corner of heaven is designed just for two: STRICTLY NO GUESTS, PARTIES OR GATHERINGS! OPEN FIRES AND BBQs ARE NOT PERMITTED AT TANGIER QUAY. NO PETS AND NO UNDER 18’s Guest access You are invited to sit and enjoy the view in our gloriously sunny and sheltered waterfront yard. You even have your own table and comfy chairs! You are sharing our yard so you may see us pop out to bring the boat in or water the plants. Other things to note PARKING There is a small car park right next door on the quay (pay in shop or use honesty box). You can pop down to unload (drive all the way down to the quay at the bottom of the hill) and if there’s a space, great. It can get busy in summertime. Cash and card accepted. There is also a large pay and display car park at the top of the village (back up the hill and turn left at the bus stop) with parking machines. Not to worry if you don’t have cash for the honesty box, if you arrive out of shop/car park office hours, when you arrive just leave a note on your dash and settle up later, it’s all very relaxed around here. You may prefer to amble down the hill to us at busy times to avoid the narrow streets. WIFI DISCLAIMER Please note that while you can enjoy Alexa and Netflix, wifi can be temperamental on personal devices. This is due to our ancient stone walls and lack of cable; we cannot guarantee connectivity/download speeds. WOOD SUPPLIES The wood stove will be laid ready for you from October until the end of April with a selection of logs and kindling to get you started. If you’d like a fire during the warmer months you’ll need to bring your own supplies. During winter and spring replenishments are available for sale at Polruan Stores and The Lugger Inn. SUNSHINE THE BORDER TERRIER We have a friendly resident Border Terrier. Sunshine loves our guests and sunning himself in the yard. If you are not keen on dogs, let us know and he will make himself scarce. CHILDREN We can accommodate babes in arms only, strictly no toddlers!
