NOVEMBER 2021 HOST UPDATE: We just did a kinda unexpected thing…we bought a different house and moved from our house of almost 20 years. It is more accurate to say, “are moving”; for after this long it Is a process. What this means for You: You may read past guest comments referring to our personal welcome, tour or our friendly dog or breakfast. I am busy updating the photos and captions as needed since our move, but it is a surprisingly time consuming task, plus I obviously can’t alter past guest comments about us, our welcome, the doggies, etc so in the spirit of full transparency, and accuracy regarding the listing, here is what you need to know to ensure you have an accurate understanding about your booking with no unexpected surprises. What has changed since the move: - we no longer personally greet you and give a tour; it Is now self check-in and the tour comes, along with the front door code, as a message on arrival day. - No more PS4, but large smart Roku TV with streaming services. - no more doggie barked greetings or tail wagging (or wanting a scape as you eat breakfast) - speaking of breakfast, it is still included yet is streamlined and simplified and fully self-serve on your schedule, be it hitting the road early or sleeping in and eating later in the day. - Downstairs game table has been replaced with an exercise bike. - fridge and pantry now have LOTS of room for guest food storage as you no longer compete for space with family food. - I am working on labeling kitchen cabinets with location of dishes, spices, etc for those who want to avail themselves of the opportunity to cook meals. The kitchen is well stocked. - our Extra long driveway is less crowded with personal vehicles gone. What Is UNchanged: - Your bedroom’s many features and benefits. - 24:7 beverage area both upstairs and down with lots of coffee & tea options. - rec room with ping pong and darts, microwave and mini-fridge - DVD and game closet with lots of options. DVD player is now downstairs with the new 53” Smart Roku TV and roomy sectional. Games can be played on the upstairs coffee table or large oak table in the kitchen. - the beautiful, safe neighborhood. While we are no longer living onsite, we are still in Fort Smith and only a message away. Providing a 5-star experience is as important as ever. Our home is across from 11 wooded acres with paths, a small creek where our community enjoy walks. There is also Imani park, a colorful contemporary playground in the neighborhood. We have a very private feel with no one across the way and our view extends to Oklahoma in the distance. Safe neighborhood for an evening stroll, or morning run. Squirrels or rabbits are seen scampering. Birds can be heard, not traffic, yet we are about 1.5 miles off the highway up the hill into our lovely neighborhood of large, well-maintained homes. Area attractions are best accessed by car, Uber/Lyft or Razorback Cab. Those wanting to explore the area will appreciate having their own vehicle. Our driveway is long so you may have the ability to park your vehicle off the street or you can park under the basketball goal and street lamp or along the curb directly in front of the house (please do not park within 5’ of mail box hindering mail truck access). Your private bedroom & common recreation area are on the second floor accessed by 12 wide, carpeted steps. Full bath and rec room amenities, game closet are upstairs. The kitchen and TV are on the main floor. Your bedroom is of course private but recreational amenities, laundry, coffee area and kitchen could be shared by any other guests. You are informed at checkin and always updated should any others leave or arrive during your stay.
