Other things to note Located within the old town and surrounded with history; everything you need is virtually a stroll away! Just a snippet of what's easily accessible - Golf....of course! - *If indeed you plan to visit "The Home of Golf" to indulge your golf habit , St Andrews now has 7 golf courses run by the St Andrews Links Trust (including the Old Course). The seventh course - The Castle Course - was opened in June 2008. Many other course are nearby but require transport; The Dukes course (operated by Herb Kohler) is awesome , Kingsbarns golf links and traditional links courses at Elie, Crail, Leven and Lundin Links. Golf, golf....golf! *Stroll in 10mins to the first tee of the Old Course!
