Description
'The Nest'—Artist's Studio Retreat Same hosts, same space, a new configuration in fall of 2024. A spacious, second-floor studio space for solo retreats—an ideal space to restore, reflect, imagine, write, draw, stitch, paint, breathe... The studio offers ample table space for creative pursuits—plus one cozy over-stuffed chair + ottoman in front of the picture window, a mini kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, private entrance, and lovely pastoral view in all directions. The space The Nest art studio is situated amidst 150 acres of fields, vineyards, and woods. We live here full-time, and the art studio space is perched over the garage of our home with a private entrance and living quarters. The upstairs studio is quiet and spacious with beautiful natural light, and wood floors/walls–it feels like a woodsy treehouse. The art studio is primarily used by your host, Leslie, for her botanical watercolor work—the 'Leafy Lexicon'. When she is away at art shows, she opens her studio for other creatives to enjoy. A small, private full bathroom with shower (remodeled in summer in 2021.) The kitchenette is basic and serviceable with a mini stove/oven, small fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, and a basic set of kitchen utensils/pots/pans/dishes. We have satellite wifi through Viasat which is wobbly, at best. Be prepared to use your hotspot for accessing the internet. Cell service is reasonable. Guest access The 'Nest' is perched about our garage/shop area. It has its own private entrance and staircase up to the studio cabin. There is ample parking and we share the driveway/parking areas. There are outdoor chairs to enjoy the views, a BBQ available, and a large garden space to wander. A beautiful trail through the woods at the edge of the property is accessible with a short walk. Other things to note We are in wine country/farmland and as such the beauty of the area does also come with some noise during harvest. Tractors, mowers, vineyard activity, etc can be heard—for the most part, it just is pastoral background noise.
