Merril Grove Farm Cottages are barn conversions built around 1790 and are in the Peak District National Park, in between Longnor and Buxton, close to Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Alton Towers. There are 7 bedrooms and 9 beds sleeping 7 to 14 guests. Self catering or eat out in the two local pubs. We welcome dogs but we charge for their stay which pays for muddy paws and extra cleaning. £50 per dog to stay. The space Furnished with cosy sofa’s and easy chairs. Beautiful bedsteads and cottage culture furnishings. All cottages have their own fully equipped kitchens. Summerhill is the largest house and has a separate dining room and larger lounge. Guests usually group in Summerhill to socialise and eat together. Bedroom space for Summerhill includes a double en- suite, a king room and a room with two single beds. A family bathroom too. Rose Cottage has a double room and a bedroom with 2 single beds and a newly refurnished shower room. Honeysuckle Cottage has a king bedstead room, a double room and a family bathroom. So, 7 bedrooms and nine beds. All bathrooms and bedrooms are upstairs. I provide all bed linen, towels and bathroom and kitchen basics such as dishwasher tablets, washing up equipment, tea towels, kitchen and toilet rolls etc. There is extensive outdoor garden space and patio space all around the three cottages at the front and back with wonderful views. We offer free off road parking space for all guests cars in the yard at the front of the cottages. Large picnic tables and outdoor chairs to seat fourteen are at the rear of the cottages. We provide a BBQ in the summer months. We ask that pets are kept on leads outside as we have lambs, sheep, chickens and horses nearby. We have gates around the outdoor space to keep children safe while playing. Guests tell me they love the views of the hills and valleys from every window and from the outdoor seating space. Guests arriving in the winter months will need to bring warm and waterproof clothes and boots. It can get cold up here on the hill November to February. You may even see some snow and get to make a snowman! Most supermarkets deliver here even though we are rural. Book your slot early and message me for a delivery post code. I am happy to recommend local pubs and restaurants for meals out too. Prior booking is recommended, as we are in a popular area for visitors. Guest access You have all three cottages to yourself. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all upstairs. 7 bedrooms, 9 beds and 4 bathrooms. Kitchens, lounges and dining area’s are all on the ground floor of each cottage. You have your own gravelled yard with parking for at least 13 cars and use of all the grass and patio space surrounding the cottages. Access is located directly off the quiet road that leads from Longnor village and passes over Barrow Moor, to eventually join the A53 Leek to Buxton road. We have key code pads on the front doors to access the cottages. I will provide your entry codes a few days before you are due to arrive. Other things to note We are situated in a rural area with beautiful views. We are beside a quiet and well maintained road for good all year around access. Summers are warm and lazy. Winter months are invigorating and frosty. You may even see some snow. We are off grid, so septic tanks. Flush only toilet paper and dispose of other items in the waste bins provided. Heating is electric night storage radiators. You will be able to relax and unwind and leave the 9 till 5 routine far behind.
