Green Cottage | Unique Family & Dog-Friendly Stay

Welcome to Green Cottage – an eco-friendly countryside escape with space for the whole family. Sleeping up to 8 guests inside (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, plus sofa beds) and up to 4 more in the charming Shepherd’s Hut, it’s perfect for larger groups, families and friends. With your own private hot tub, enclosed garden, and access to a heated indoor pool, sauna, children’s play area and fishing lake, Green Cottage is a unique place to relax and make memories. The space Green Cottage is full of character, with its oak frame, lime panels, and rustic country style. The open-plan living area brings everyone together, with a log burner, comfy sofas (including a sofa bed), Smart TV and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for relaxed meals — from a family Sunday roast to a quick coffee from the Dolce Gusto machine. The cottage has two family bedrooms: the master with a king-size bed and single, and the second with a double and single. There’s also a sofa bed in the living area for extra flexibility. The bathroom features a freestanding double-ended bath and overhead shower. Step outside into your private courtyard, where you’ll find outdoor seating, a barbecue, and a bubbling hot tub — as well as direct access to the play area and swimming pool nearby. In the courtyard you’ll also discover the Baa’rnacre Shepherd’s Hut, a cosy extra sleeping space (available at an additional charge) that can sleep up to 4, with its own bathroom and flexible bed setup. Guests also have access to our indoor heated pool, bookable in private slots, with an indoor hot tub, changing facilities and towels provided. The children’s play area and 1-acre fishing lake are just a short walk away. Green Cottage is both family- and dog-friendly (up to 2 well-behaved dogs, £25 each). We provide baby and child essentials including travel cot with bedding, high chair, fireguard, baby bath, plastic cutlery, and pool toys to make your stay as easy as possible. Guest access You’ll have the entire cottage, garden and courtyard to yourselves, including private access to your hot tub and the Shepherd’s Hut (if booked). The pool, sauna, lake and play area are shared across our three cottages, but each family has private time booked for the pool. Other things to note The Shepherd’s Hut is optional and charged separately (£100/night Sunday–Thursday, £150/night Friday & Saturday). Quiet hours are from 11pm–7am. Please respect our neighbours and the peaceful setting. Our lovely indoor pool is shared between the three Barnacre cottages — but don’t worry, you’ll have it all to yourself when it’s your turn! 🏊‍♀️✨ It’s fully heated and bookable in private slots (up to 2 hours) between 8am and 6pm each day. We use a simple online app to keep it easy and fair, so you can enjoy your swim in total peace and privacy. The pool is right next to Barnacre Green Cottage and the children’s play area, or just a short stroll down our little country lane from The Old Mill and The Shippon. And just outside the pool entrance, you’ll also find our outdoor barrel sauna — the perfect spot to warm up, wind down, and feel like you're on a proper retreat.
