Think Pig Hotel meets coastal hideaway! Our beautiful double fronted Victorian Cottage is a stone’s throw from the beach and restaurants in a peaceful street. Art on the walls, antiques in every room and plenty of lamps, candles, create a unique atmosphere. *Comfy beds for a good night’s sleep. *Full kitchen with a range cooker *Two Wood burning stoves *Upstairs bathroom *Private Courtyard with Weber BBQ *Free on street parking *Dog Friendly! *Baby and child friendly (cot & high chair) The space The cottage is spacious and set across two floors connected via a safe, carpeted split level staircase which is rare for Whitstable. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs while downstairs you will find the living room and kitchen. The kitchen-diner is spacious and well equipped, there’s a farmhouse style dining room table and chairs, a cosy wood-burner and an armchair so you can chat with the cook while they knock up a gourmet meal on the range. Next door the separate lounge is comfortably furnished with two sofas, an armchair and a second wood-burning stove perfect for relaxing after a long day on the beach. The large flat screen TV is equipped with an amazon firestick offering access to all your favourite TV Apps. We also have a DVD player and comprehensive DVD library of films for young and old. Up an elegant flight of stairs and you will find two comfortable and well proportioned rooms and a luxurious upstairs bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a triple bunk (a standard double below and a single above). We offer superb pocket sprung mattresses and luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding and towels. The bathroom is so pretty with it’s original fireplace and encaustic tiles. It truly combines style with function; the perfect place to enjoy a long hot soak in the tub or an invigorating power shower. The cottage is furnished throughout with a mixture of vintage pieces collected on our travels and comfortable contemporary furniture. Families with children are very welcome and a travel cot, high chair and baby monitor are available on request. A maximum of two well behaved dogs are also welcomed for a small extra charge. Please inform us in advance. We are keen supporters of the arts and there are many original paintings on the walls, many of which are painted by local artists. Please enquire if interested in owning your own, we can put you in touch with the relevant artist. Bexley Cottage is the perfect base for exploring Whitstable; the location is exceptional, a couple of moments walk from beach, harbour, shops and restaurants yet the street itself is peaceful and quiet. Whitstable itself has much to offer in terms of beautiful coastal scenery, a proper working harbour and a thriving artistic community. We have a wealth of lovely independent restaurants championing local produce from both the sea and Romney Marsh, the emphasis is very much on freshness and provenance. Sit at one of our local beach front local eateries and enjoy the sunset with some local oysters and a glass of Kentish wine or a locally brewed Whitstable Sundowner! Families are welcome everywhere and most places welcome dogs as well. We are really lucky to have some properly talented local artists and makers and you can browse amazing seascapes painted in plein air on the beach and pick up hand made pots and textiles in the local shops and galleries. There are of course plenty of opportunities for sea- based fun for all ages. Water sports, boat tours, swimming, cycling or walking along the Viking coastal trail, skateboarding, bowling.. choices abound!u Guest access Bexley Cottage is superbly located a few seconds walk from the Harbour, Beach and all Whitstable's wonderful independent shops and restaurants. The street is in a cute little residential turning steeped in history. There is free on-street parking in all the roads around the cottage and double yellow lines right outside which allow for easy drop off and pickup of suitcase and children. As is the case for all of Whitstable, parking can take a little patience in high season, however, there are always spaces to be had and once parked the location is so central that you won't need your car again. Access to the cottage is via a lock box.
