The Bel-Hygge Chalet - Coziness/Comfort (SAUNA)

The vibe of our chalet is centered around the Danish practice Hygge (hue-guh). We strive to cultivate a home away from home that makes you feel welcome, in the moment, relaxed & cozy. Just 15 minutes to downtown Anchorage & airport yet tucked into the cusp of 20 acres of undeveloped natural forest known as Griffin Park. The Alaska wilderness experience is right out your door. The space Bel-Hygge Chalet is ideally situated for the traveler who wants to take advantage of all there is to experience in the area. After a full day of exploring, the space is perfect for curling up with a book and a blanket in the basket chair by the window or settling into one of the comfy robes available after a nice steam in the sauna before enjoying a restful night on the super comfortable mattresses. Your space features a large kitchen stocked with essentials, living/dining area w/ vaulted ceilings. Peek-a-boo views of Cook Inlet, mountains & sounds of the gentle flow of adjacent Rabbit Creek. Master br has a top of the line plush queen bed & it’s own bathroom. 2nd br has 2 comfy beds (1 Queen & 1 Full). There is also a fun whale tent bed topper option for kids (by advanced request only). Enjoy a moment to reflect and just breathe in our large cedar sauna. TONS of great activities and games in the Chalet for all ages! Also have “Hygge stations” peppered throughout teaching about the Hygge way of life. Our policy is to put out freshly laundered sheets and pillowcases on the beds as well as clean fluffy towels for each new booking. Everything is professionally cleaned prior to each guest’s arrival, everything! We offer an included assortment of DIY breakfast type items. I'm a licensed minister and can perform your wedding or commitment ceremony and also offer special honeymoon/anniversary suite options for special occasions! (Just ask!) We pride ourselves in making sure your experience is top notch and are close by to meet any needs that may arise. - Check-in begins at 4 pm. Check-out is 11am. Please note that arriving early or departing late will result in additional charges. - No smoking (outside only). - Dogs permitted with $100 fee. (Dogs only; maximum 2 allowed. Dogs need to be crated if left at the property alone.) Please note that you are bringing a pet during booking process for fee to be applied. - No events, parties or large gatherings. - Must be at least 18 years old to book. - Please Note: a car is required, 4WD recommended in winter. Limited parking; vehicles limited to 2. - Photo ID may be required upon check-in. Guest access Please enjoy the main level as you enter the chalet and the upstairs master bedroom/bathroom. There is an apartment at the basement level of the house. This is not part of the Bel-Hygge Chalet rental. Other things to note The parking pad in front of the house is available to your unit for 1 vehicle. Should you have 2 cars you can feel free to park one in front of other. Adjacent space to left for parking is reserved. PLEASE NOTE: there is a low retaining wall on right side of parking pad. Do not park too far over, there is a bit of a drop. This is a home with a basement unit. What you see on the exterior house photo is your entire 2 story unit, on the other side basement floor of the house there is a 1 bedroom apartment with completely separate entrance/commodities. Large groups? Check with host to see about booking both units (sleep up to 10).
