Fern Hill - charming lake cottage

Fern hill is tucked between a quiet lake and a mixed pine/hardwood forest, with a gurgling stream running below the house. Beebe is a small, peaceful lake north of Lake Bomoseen. The original cabin was converted to a spacious chalet cottage in the 60's with porch, grill, private dock for swimming/boating and villages/trails nearby. The space Fern Hill is located on an acre of forested land. Beebe Lake is small, quiet and pristine. Only electric motors are allowed on the lake, with a speed limit of 5 miles per hour (no water skiing). Swimming and fishing are excellent. Bird feeders are set up in the front of the cottage for those who enjoy bird watching, and humming birds frequent the front porch. From the back of the cottage you can follow a path up to a historic wooden water tower which is now a small studio and a great place to read or meditate. There are numerous hiking trails nearby and quaint villages to visit. Guest access Full cottage and private waterfront are accessible to guests Other things to note For your safety, please note that there are wooden stairs leading from the porch to the yard below and stone steps leading to the waterfront. The outside deck can be splintery and slippery when wet. The wooden steps to the inside loft can also be slippery, please be careful, socks and bare feet are not advised on stairs and children should be supervised. Guests with small children should bring life jackets for swimming and boating. We provide 3 adult life jackets and one medium child-size jacket. These are required when boating. thank you!
