🌵Secluded 1950's Homestead Cabin Close to JTNP🌅
Description
Cabin 54 is a labor of love for my husband and I. We hope you make many great memories here! Get away from the city bustle in our fully restored & modernized 1954 cabin on 5 acres in 29 Palms. Bordered by land on all sides this property feels remote. It is far from city lights, 20 minutes to town and Joshua Tree National Park visitor center. Enjoy desert views of JTNP, amazing sunsets/sunrises, star gaze in hammocks, light a bonfire, enjoy your coffee or wine, play horseshoes, RELAX. The space We packed a lot of love into this 528 sf cabin. It is bigger than it seems but is still tiny home living. Located in Desert Heights (rural Twentynine Palms) Cabin 54 is perfect for the wild at heart that is comfortable in nature and not afraid of quiet and solitude. It makes a great base camp for adventures into the Joshua Tree National Park, getaways for couples or for the solo traveler looking to perfect their art, music or just unplug and read a book. It is a quirky little space and not at all perfect (this was our first rehab project) but if you are looking for something off the beaten path down a bumpy dirt road, it is a great place to hang your hat for a few nights. The space: -Super Remote & Quiet Location -Perfect for Stargazing!!! -Outdoor Patio -50" Smart HDTV -Record Player (with records) -Outdoor Fire Pit (bring wood) -Outdoor Shower (heated) -Horseshoes -Yoga Mats -Fully-equipped Kitchen -1 Queen Bed, & 1 Air Mattress -Modern Mini Split AC - Wood Burning Stove& Mini Split Heat -Large Yard with plenty of Outdoor Seating & over 1 acre of Secure Fencing - Beautiful view of JTNP, Copper Mountain & open Mojave desert land -Wi-Fi for Streaming & Web Surfing (not optimal for multiple devices/working from home) -You will have private access to the entire property! PETS: We do allow one dog with an extra $30 charge added charge to the cleaning fee. We ask that you please pick up after your pet and don’t allow him/her on any of the furniture. We have just over 1 acre surrounding the house fully fenced for their enjoyment. Also, be mindful that there are native cactus and cholla plants in the yard and they can get stickers in their paws. THE DRIVE: It’s about a 20 minute drive from Downtown Joshua Tree, with the last 1.3 miles on an unpaved bumpy dirt road. The dirt road is maintained and 4X4 is NOT required but it is bumpy. AMENITIES: We provide the basics such as towels, sheets, pillows, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap & trash can liners, and coffee. KITCHEN: Fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and all the basic kitchen essentials; Pots/Pans/Plates/Cups/Utensils. Also for the coffee lovers we have an automatic Nespresso machine and for the purist there is a Chemex so you can perfect your pour over skills. We stock both coffee beans and coffee pods (and tea) so you can enjoy a cup of joe out on the patio and not miss the morning sunrise! ENTRY: There is a keypad located at the front door for a simple keyless entry. An entry code will be provided to you 48 hours before arrival. The code is changed after every guest. PARKING: There is a plenty of parking space! THE LOCATION: It’s in the open desert and about 12 minutes from the nearest convenience store (Indian Cove Market) and 15 minutes to the nearest market (Stater Bros) so I highly recommend you stock up and grab everything you need before you get here. The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of some modernized and some abandoned homes all on unpaved unlit roads. INTERNET: The house has reliable Internet(unless it is raining - then no houses in the rural desert will have internet), but the speeds aren’t the fastest given the remote location. It works well for streaming Netflix on the television, multiple phones connected using social media and email, but you’ll see reduced speeds if you have multiple people performing bandwidth heavy activities (zoom calls, downloading, uploading large files, etc). You can access your Netflix/Hulu accounts with the 4K Smart HDTV. OUTDOOR SPACE: Over 1 acre of the 5 acres is fully fenced and includes a fire pit, horseshoes, charcoal BBQ (bring charcoal if you plan to use it), pavers with Adirondack chairs, picnic table, & a brand new heated outdoor shower. BEDS: There is one queen bed. There is also an air mattress on the property that can be used for additional sleeping arrangements but keep in mind the cabin is small and you will be cozy if you use this option. COOLING / HEATING: This is the desert. The summers are hot and the winters are cold. The house has a brand new A/C unit that keeps the house cool during the summer months. Let us know what time you plan to arrive and we can turn it on and cool it down for you. There is also a portable fan in the bedroom. A quintessential wood burning stove completes the cabin vibe and keeps the temperature toasty during the winter months. However if you are looking for a little less maintenance while you are on vacation, you can keep things warm with the modern heating unit. Guest access Guests have private access to the entire 5 acre property! Over 1 acre is fully fenced and gated with parking inside of the gate. Other things to note No loud parties or events allowed. PETS: 1 dog is allowed with an additional $30 cleaning fee collected prior to your stay. Please be respectful of the property and note that pets are not allowed on the furniture so if you are traveling with your furbaby, please bring pet bedding. DUST: Dust management is constant in the desert. We have placed gravel all the way around the house to assist with keeping the dust down but it can get windy in these parts so please keep the doors and windows shut. SECURITY: Ring security cameras are located at the front and back of the house and we have professional Ring emergency monitoring in place. NO cameras are inside the property. WILDLIFE: This is the desert, home to coyotes, birds, snakes, spiders, rabbits, owls, mice, kangaroo rats and other critters. Don't be surprised to see some of these desert dwellers during your stay in this wild and remote landscape. Generally, if you leave them alone, they leave you alone but to avoid unwanted contact please remember to keep doors closed. Registration Details CESTRP-2021-02007
