"Jon's Place" Pioneer Log Cabin - Dog Friendly

Historic log cabin with updated amenities and deck overlooking the Upper Truckee River. Minutes from most of Lake Tahoe's best restaurants, beaches, nightlife, and outdoor activities! Jon's Place includes a great room and loft. A fireplace and original timbers set the stage. Access the loft via a slanted ladder, revealing a space with two queen beds, separated by curtain. A full kitchen, laundry, and bathroom are adjacent to the great room. Dog friendly with large fenced yard. The space Jon's Place is an authentic log cabin that is still owned by the Springmeyer Family, pioneers in the South Lake Tahoe and Gardnerville area. The mountain, meadow and river views enjoyed by the Washoe Indians and high country cattle ranchers who later homesteaded here remain as inspiring and unobstructed as they were decades ago. VHR #008173 The Upper Truckee River runs through this property and is available for swimming and fishing. Depending on the time of year and a number of factors, the water levels in the river fluctuate. The 10,000 sq. ft. fenced-in area helps to keep children and pets out of the river until you allow them. The pet fee is $60 for stays of 5 nights or shorter. Please contact the host regarding stays over 5 nights. Cats or other animals are not allowed. A paved bike path runs behind the property. There are outside security cameras on the property for the safety of the property and our guests. Please review our photos carefully before booking. The cabin is rustic and historic, it may not be suitable for guests looking for a luxury experience. The ladder style stairs to the loft are not suitable for small children or the elderly. Please be sure the stairs suit the needs of your entire party. Guest access Guests are afforded complete access to Jon's Place and its surrounding amenities, including an original fireplace, updated kitchen and laundry facilities, etc. In addition, outdoor deck seating, a BBQ, natural terrain overlook, fenced yard and private access to the Upper Truckee River - a great space for kids, dogs, and adults to play. The cabin is located right next door to a popular Beer Garden and shares a parking lot. The Beer Garden hosts bands during summer and offers food/drinks. *Depending on the time of year, please note that the water levels in the river are subject to change. Other things to note -Let us know if you'll be bringing any dogs along. (maximum 2)** -Please be sure the number of guests stated on your request is accurate. The log cabin accommodates a maximum of 6 people and 2 dogs under 40 pounds each. Please be aware that during the winter months, weather conditions at Lake Tahoe are unpredictable. Travel insurance is highly recommended in case of cancelation outside of our cancelation window. Dogs are permitted, with prior approval, for an additional fee ($60 for 1-5 night stays). Please note that any property damage resulting from pets or guests will generate an additional fee to cover required repairs. Please note that the front fence is short and might not be suitable for larger dogs prone to jumping. Parties/large gatherings of more than 6 people are strictly prohibited. 2 parking spaces are reserved for guest use. Signs mark the spaces that are reserved for guest use. The cabin shares a parking lot with a local beer garden that does get very busy especially in the summer months. Please note: The cabin is in an urban area, not secluded from the general public. Next door is a popular eatery and beer garden, mini golf course and further down the road there is a grocery store. Our cabin has many original features, including low doorways and beams in some places. The stairs to the loft are not be suitable for small children and are to be used with caution. Dogs cannot climb the ladder style stairs. Please review the photos carefully. It is your responsibility to decide if the stairs are suitable to the needs of your party.
