Description

Gorgeous romantic luxury Cotswold cottage with direct access to walks. Up to 2 well behaved small/medium dogs are welcome or enquire (see dog rules). The Old Mill House is 2 miles to Winchcombe, 5 miles Cheltenham Racecourse, 9 miles central Cheltenham. Living room with logburner, bedroom with kingsize bed, kitchen - microwave, dishwasher, induction hob, oven Nespresso machine, Smeg fridge/freezer. Shower room. Neal's Yard toiletries. Fast broadband. EV charging. Muddy paw pet washer. The space Beautifully furnished, warm and cosy the Old Mill House is the perfect Cotswolds getaway. Parking. an EV charging point and superfast Gigaclear broadband. The sitting room has the original flagstone floor which has been restored, stone walls and lime plaster. Radiators and a woodburning stove keep the whole place warm. There is a television to catch up on your favourite programmes, a sofa and chair, side tables and table lamps. Upstairs the super comfy king size bed has a Sleepsoul Cloud mattress and luxury bedding for the perfect sleep. The bedroom has a small wardrobe and bedside tables and a black out blind. There are no street lights and the only sounds are the birds, the owls and the sheep. The downstairs shower room has a large walk in cubicle with electric shower, toilet and vanity unit. There is a wall mirror and heated radiator. We supply Neal's Yard toiletries for use during your stay. We refill them to save on plastic. Towels are also provided. The kitchen has a microwave oven, an induction hob, oven and dishwasher. All crockery and cutlery are provided along with water and wine glasses. There is a Nespresso machine, a toaster and a retro style Smeg fridge freezer. There is also an iron and table top ironing board. There is a table for two. Due to the original features there is some unevenness in the floors and stairs. There will be a welcome basket to refresh you after your journey usually containing a selection of bread, milk, butter, eggs and biscuits to get you started. The cottage has a supply of tea bags, a selection of coffee pods, jams, sugar, salt, pepper and oil. There is a Co-Op supermarket in Winchcombe about 2 miles away. Logs - in winter we supply one full basket of logs along with firelighters, kindling and matches to get you going. The Co-Op sells bags of logs if you want more. Outside there is a large enclosed paddock/garden (great for dogs to run free) with garden furniture perfect for a coffee or a drink. Note the paddock is through a small gate to the side of the cottage. The cottage door does not open directly on to it. The area also includes our vegetable garden and fruit trees. Walks are on the doorstep with The Winchcombe Way through a gate at the bottom of the paddock. This walk has a number of stiles. Another walk on the doorstep is up the hill beside the house. Great views and no stiles. The cottage has 2 smoke alarms, a carbon monoxide alarm, a fire blanket and a first aid kit. Up to 2 small/medium well behaved dogs most welcome or enquire. We just ask that you keep them off the furniture and bed, dry muddy paws and pick up after them in the grounds. We have a Muddy Paw pet washer in the cottage. We have 2 Bedlington terriers, Ruby and Layla, who are very happy to meet new friends. Most pubs and restaurants in the area welcome dogs. Guest access A car is needed to get here and visit the area but if you want to do lots of walking you just need to step out of the cottage straight on to the Winchcombe Way. There is 1 parking space adjacent to the cottage on the gravel drive in front of our house. We have a Type 2 EV charger with lead which is available for use at £10 per overnight charge. We live next door so are generally on hand if needed. The Saxon village of Winchcombe is just over 2 miles away and you can walk there over the hills from the cottage if you want to. It has pubs, restaurants, shops, a butcher, a vegetable shop and a fabulous bakery. We are a short drive from some beautiful Cotswold villages including Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in March to name a few. Cheltenham Racecourse is 5 miles away. Prescott Hill Climb is 4 minutes. There are great pubs and restaurants, most of them dog friendly. Our local is The Royal Oak in Gretton which is just over a mile away. Great location and great food with the added bonus of the historic stream train going past if you are lucky. Winchcombe has The Lion and the White Hart, both excellent pubs. We have a list of recommendations if you require them. Cheltenham is 9 miles away and has wonderful shops and restaurants. Other things to note Dog rules We love dogs and want to welcome up to 2 small/medium well behaved dogs to the cottage (or enquire). However we want to ensure that it remains beautiful for all our guests. Our fully enclosed paddock is great for letting dogs off the lead for a run. Note- the paddock is around the side of the cottage through a small gate, the cottage door doesn't open directly on to it - dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture - muddy dogs need to be washed off, we provide a Muddy Paw pet washer and a dog towel. Please do not wash your dog in the shower - no dogs to be left in the cottage or garden if guests are out. - any damage or additional laundry/cleaning will sadly have to be charged for - all dog mess to be cleared up We want to offer luxury accommodation for dog owners and appreciate your acceptance of these rules on booking. Thank you. Note - we do not accept cats Children The cottage is not suitable for small mobile children due to the stairs but infants are welcome and we have a travel cot and high chair if required.
