Built in 1888, as a Cotton Mill & added to in 1949 becoming Drexel Heritage Furniture Plant No.7. Now 45 "industrial" apts. with all modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable. The space has no natural daylight (no windows) & allows you to rise and shine well after the sun. Enjoy the nostalgia of bygone days & a "World Travel" themed décor. There's Papa John's pizza and Subway, just across the street and a drugstore next door to the mill, for your convenience. This is a newly renovated space. A king size bed and tall ceilings make the place feel roomier and just "hip." There is "no smoking" inside the building or inside the apartment. Please go outside to partake and do not litter on the premises. Be courteous. Thanks. Trash drop off is in the back of the building, should you be staying for awhile just off the back entrance, via a catwalk. First dumpster is trash and second is cardboard only. Available either by text or phone should any questions for concerns arise during your stay. Root & Vine is a local favorite restaurant, downtown, but, if you're looking for lighter fare try Homer's Soda Shop and their Chorizo tacos, also downtown on the main square across from the old courthouse. There's a historic train depot, just across the tracks and also just across the tracks is Maria's Italian Restaurant and Sidetracked Taproom. You can park anywhere at the Mill in the parking lot. However, since our apartment is on floor two, it will be most convenient to come in the main entrance on the side of the building. The apartment has coded entryways into the building itself. Very safe area and right across the railroad tracks from the historic Morganton Train Station. There's also a farmer's market every Saturday morning (March-November) just across the railroad tracks in the back of Morganton Station.
