Little-Ole Cabin on the lake at Sunnyside Farm

Escape to this quiet retreat and be refreshed. Secluded rustic cabin overlooks lake. The space This log cabin was the original home of the Reynolds Tobacco Family. It was disassembled and moved from another part of the farm to its current location on the lake. Guests can gaze at the lake from the rocking chairs on the wrap-around porch, roast marshmallows or fish on the outdoor firepit, or read a book while swinging on the porch swing. Those inclined to more active pursuits can enjoy the outdoors- hike through the woods, canoe on the lake, or fish for big mouth bass and sunfish (catch & release). The cabin is part of a working farm and guests are welcome to visit the animals (mini goats, sheep, mini zebu cattle and chickens), although we ask they not be fed. The cabin is small -20ft x 20 ft. The main floor has a full kitchen (¾ size refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker) and a full bath with stand-up shower. Ladder-like steps lead to 2 bedrooms upstairs, both of which have comfortable full-size beds. Window air conditioners on the main floor and in both bedrooms cool the cabin in warm weather. Ceramic heaters are available in both bedrooms for cool nights. There is NO central air. Note also, the ladder-steps are steep and tall. Guests with children are encouraged to contact the host to understand details regarding suitability of the cabin/property for children and infants. There is no wifi, no phone line, TV or cable. Cell signal is weak outside the cabin, but usable; it is not very usable inside the structure. Leave the stress and worries of urban life and come immerse yourself in simple pleasures. Late check-out (2 pm) allows you to head home refreshed. Other things to note Reidsville is 20 mins away & has grocery stores & several food establishments including a great BBQ spot.
