Close proximity to Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District in Oak Park. Near O'Hare Airport, Metra and green line 'L' train. 25-45 minutes from downtown Chicago (depending on traffic). This is our home so naturally we love it. Our kitchen is a gathering spot and we linger here over coffee or our daughters sit and color while we are cooking dinner. The family room is a good spot to relax and watch television at the end of the day or you can choose to read a book by the living room fireplace. You will have access to free wifi. All the bedrooms are upstairs so you are close to young kids while they are sleeping. You will have access to all parts of the house except the basement. Our cat may be down there and friends will be feeding and caring for him through our side entrance. We may also have other AirBnb guests in the basement. During the times that we are renting our home we will most likely be out of town. We will be able to be reached via email and phone. We also have friends willing to assist in situations as necessary. Galewood is a diverse community very close to both Oak Park and Elmwood Park. Our block is quiet with lots of older people and several families. Our current neighborhood is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city boasting a large yard (for Chicago) where you can enjoy dinner on our patio. We are located next to Oak Park which is an adorable suburb (about three blocks away) with cute restaurants and loads of charm. Target and a grocery store are about a mile north of us for immediate needs or if you wish to cook for a night in. We are located within walking distance of parks and Wonderworks Children's Museum. Free street parking. We have been residents of Chicago for 20 years living in many of the different neighborhoods that make this city unique. We are three blocks from NE Oak Park and a 10 min drive to the train where you can take the green line into downtown Chicago in about 20 minutes. We are also a five minute walk from the Metra train stop that will also bring you to Union Station downtown. By car, timing is dependent on the traffic but we can typically make it there is 25-45 minutes. We love to share our favorite things about Chicago with the people who stay at our house.
