Welcome to The Luxe Chalet. Romantic, tranquil, modern luxe river chalet on the Red Cedar River. Secluded sanctuary with spectacular views. Wood burning fireplace inside, 2 bonfires out. Enjoy the modern kitchen with granite counters. In-floor heat to keep you cozy & warm. Relax in the deep jacuzzi bath or outdoors in the year-round hot tub. For more sleeping privacy, there is a queen bed/bath/kitchen apt above garage (see last 5 pictures) which is a one time additional $100 fee. Tom and I have traveled a lot for work and want to offer our guests the comforts of home without you having to pack everything but the kitchen sink. Pack your clothes, your favorite beverage and something to grill and I think we have the rest covered. Simple yet sophisticated. Private yet close to great food and trails. You work hard so why not let us spoil you? There are 3 queen beds, a futon, a sectional sofa and 1 bath in the main house. 1 queen, 1 bath and another kitchen in the apartment. The entire 2,000 sq feet of relaxation and 1 acre of river front land is yours to enjoy. The view to the back and river faces west. The vacant land to the north is owned by the DNR so feel free to meander. There is a heated garage which in the colder months, may be available upon request. If you drive a larger truck or RV, there is room to park but currently no utilities are available. Electric could be negotiated for an additional fee. We understand that time with family & friends is what your stay is all about. Spending valuable time with me as a Host is not why you’re here, so unless you specifically request an in-person greeting and check in, we’re going to leave you to your fun from the minute you arrive. Prior to your arrival, you will receive detailed instructions on what we provide, the key code to unlock the door & directions. If you should have ANY questions, I’m always available by phone or text here on the Airbnb app. As you make the turn onto 650th and wind your way down toward Eagle Point Drive, the trees thicken, the pines get taller and the road slowly narrows until you see hints of our red cedar siding peeking through the trees at you. The boulder lined drive greets you as you enter the property. You can feel your blood pressure drop as you get out of your car and hear the leaves of the trees and the needles of the pines dancing in the breeze. If you work for one of the many Corporations in Menomonie and are looking for a more personal lodging experience than the local hotel, this home is for you! 3M on Stokke Parkway is 2 miles away. Parking and trail passes are available. This 14.5-mile rail trail shadows the steep walls of the Red Cedar Valley from Menomonie to its connection with the Chippewa River State Trail. The trail passes by prairies, marshland bottoms, forests and farmlands, including sandstone bluffs and other unique rock formations. In the Dunnville Wildlife Area, the Red Cedar trail connects to the Chippewa River State Trail. The Red Cedar State Trail is part of the Chippewa Valley Trail System. When completed, the trail system will feature an 80-mile network of trail stretching from Cornell, through Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire to Durand and Menomonie. Other trails in the system include the Chippewa River and Old Abe state trails. Snowmobiling Two miles of the Red Cedar State Trail are open for snowmobiling from the junction of the Chippewa River State Trail north to County Road Y. Operators must follow all Wisconsin snowmobile laws. The trail also connects to county snowmobile trails. Hunting The Red Cedar State Trail corridor is open to hunting from the intersection with the Chippewa River State Trail north, approximately four miles, to the north boundary of the southeast quarter of section 11 in T26, R13W, as posted (the area where the trail goes through the Dunnville Wildlife Area). A portions of the trail property in the town of Dunn is more than 100 yards from the trail corridor. This portion is open to hunting and trapping during the Wisconsin state parks hunting time frame. The Chippewa River State Trail connects to the Red Cedar State Trail in the Dunnville Wildlife Area near the confluence of the Red Cedar and Chippewa rivers. Sandbars in this area offer access to swimming, fishing and picnicking. There is some parking in the Dunnville Wildlife Area near County Highway Y. If it snows more than 2”, a hired service will take care of the snow removal with no additional cost to you. We also provide pet friendly ice melt near both doors.
