Newly built rock cabin by the sea - off grid

Experience the real sense of archipelago living at our remote cabin. You will have access to your own stretch of smooth red granite beach and an uninterrupted view of the Åland wilderness. Your only neighbours will be the sound of the sea and the occasional eagles that swoop overhead from time to time. Getting to the cabin is easy by car or bike from Mariehamn. The space The cabin itself has been built with the environment in mind. Built in the spring of 2021 it has been designed to offer both a sense of simple luxury and to have minimal impact on the environment. Electricity is generated from solar panels and drinking water is available in tanks. Rainwater can be used for washing and sauna. Fresh water will also be provided for the duration of your stay so don’t worry :) The cabin is spacious and bright and exudes Scandinavian simplicity. It has one bedroom with a double bed and an incredible view, a smaller room with a bunk bed and a loft area with a second queen bed. The central room is spacious with a sofa bed and dining area as well as a modern fitted kitchen, gas hob and refrigerator. For those chillier nights (we get a few in Finland!), there is a log fireplace that can be used to warm the place up. The cabin is fitted with a combustion toilet (instructions included). And of course it wouldn’t be a Finnish cabin without a sauna! The sauna is part of the cabin building but is accessed through a separate door directly on the large terrace. Perfect for direct access from the sauna to the sea. The sauna is also wood burning with a window that gives you panoramic views of the landscape while you sit and unwind. Towards the waters edge there is also a great open fire bbq area. We expect our guests to leave the cabin as they found it and take away any rubbish and recycling. And it goes without saying that we want our guests to respect the surrounding environment and leave no trace. Guest access Parking is available near the cottage. Other things to note Guests bring own bed sheets and towels and clean the property before departure.
