Enjoy these new cottage with two beds and one bathroom. The eco-friendly Borealis Cottage is only 5 miles from the airport off paved roads. Drive past a pond where float planes take off and land, then turn on to a peaceful acre at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Low tree cover and lack of light pollution allow for lovely Aurora viewing. Two queen rooms with premium Casper mattresses provide a lovely night of sleep. Additional options available to host up to six guests. Pets upon approval. The space We have insulated, darkening curtains in the bedrooms (along with window shades) to help keep out the midnight sun during the summer, and help provide an extra thermal barrier for the winter. These cottages are designed with eco-friendly, waterless toilets engineered in Sweden. Since 26.7% of fresh water usage is just to flush sewage, this toilet provides for remarkable resource preservation. This design separates the liquid and solid waste, and can be used for all toilet needs (but it is sit-down only for all uses). A 200 gallon water cistern in each cottage allows for hot showers, with low-flow shower head to save fresh water. We deliver water for your convenience. It is easy to check the water level by observing the clear tank in one of the closets. Each cottage is best designed for four (4) or fewer people, with two queen bedrooms. However we do have two foldaway beds (with memory foam mattresses) to accommodate larger groups or families. The smaller foldaway (single size) we setup in the hallway which still allows easy access to both bedrooms. The larger twin size foldaway we put in front of the TV which still allows for the living room to gather in. But please be advised that it will limit space in the common room area when the extra beds are required. Extra guest fees do apply for more than eight (8) guests . Further note that if fewer guests require the extra beds, the same fees will apply due to the additional housekeeping and laundry required to accommodate. Guests with AT&T or GCI cell service should have good reception at this location, but other service providers may have limited service in this area (and other parts of Alaska).
